Description
Gàrradh Hideaway is a private tiny house with a 20 foot all pine ceiling and 8 foot loft. The door opens to a completely private and covered garden patio and saltwater hot tub. The space Welcome! Gàrradh Hideaway is our charming tiny house that sits independently from our 1946 cottage main house, with it’s own private gate entrance and keyless entry for a seamless check-in. The tiny house offers unique charm with its pine ceiling, new and repurposed materials, and garden view. Equipped with a queen memory foam bed, cotton linens, smart TV, kitchenette and charming loft, the tiny house is all you need for rest and relaxation. The 8 ft loft is equipped with a twin memory foam bed and set up as a reading nook, but is also a cozy sleep space with a lovely morning view. Gàrradh is perfect for a single guest, couple's getaway, travelers and visiting UO parents. Walk out onto the private covered patio to enjoy an evening beverage, your morning coffee or tea, or pop in the detached patio bathroom to prepare for your saltwater soak. Named Gàrradh (Gaelic for garden), the tiny house and patio sit on the other side of a home work studio, offering privacy for guests as they move about the space in a completely fenced and private area lined with trees, gardens, and boasting Heather’s love of flowers. When the picking is right, our yard has apples, plums, herbs and many other vegetables throughout the season. Need to know info: Heather’s work studio sits between the tiny house and the main house. Heather is working in her studio from 10-6 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only. During her 10-6 work hours the patio bathroom is shared, but is exclusive to guests only Thursday-Sunday. We have two large, but gentle dogs. Bodine barks to say hello, and Conrí just gives stoic stares. Both are friendly, and make appearances in the backyard. Pricing: The list price is for a single guest, a party of two is slightly more. Our cleaning fee is divided between our cleaning service and hot tub maintenance. This fee pays outside companies, and keeps your stay comfortable. Guest access The tiny house sits at the top of our driveway, and we reserve a space directly in front of it for one small guest vehicle. If you’re traveling in a midsize or larger, there is free street parking on our very quiet dead end street. The private guest entrance is through the gate to the far left, is equipped with a keyless lock, and is clearly identifiable. (Please do not leave valuables in vehicle) Other things to note Things to know ~ The tiny house is set up like a hotel room. There are small appliances (fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and water cooler with hot and cold water) but no inside sink. There is a utility sink that sits right outside on the patio for your convenience that is set up with all of the kitchen sink essentials. I supply coffee, tea, and complimentary snack items. The full bathroom is detached, and 10 steps across the private patio from the door. The detached covered patio bathroom is exclusive to guests Thursday-Sunday, and shared during Heather’s studio work hours 10-6 Monday-Wednesday. The patio bathroom is not in view of the main house, and has a guest door that opens to the patio, and a door that opens to Heather’s studio providing a no contact bathroom access. Guests love the loft, but note that it is accessed by a traditional loft ladder, and can be steep for some guests, and not appropriate for small children. We are very meticulous about our saltwater tub since we enjoy it regularly ourselves. We ask that guests always rinse off in the shower before entering the tub to ensure that the sanitation and PH are in perfect order. We remind guests that the hot tub is for relaxation, and not to be used for any inappropriate behavior or invited guests. We get it, but we live here too:)
