Breezy, light-filled cabin on the Russian River. A perfect hideaway spot for relaxing or unwinding or as a base for all of your North Coast and Russian River exploring. Our floating dock allows easy river access and a large, expansive deck provides wonderful outdoor lounging space. The cabin has a modern, open studio floor plan to help create a spacious, natural-light filled experience. The large deck offers room to stretch out, watch the river wildlife or enjoy the stars. The south facing wall of windows and deck make this the best spot for enjoying a morning cup of coffee and breakfast while watching the sun rise over the misty river. The wood stove provides heat and a cozy ambiance inside, and outside, a modern steel fire pit complements mood lighting and outdoor speakers to make lounging on the deck the place to be, day or night. This stretch of the river is where it begins to widen before opening to the coast, and being the last set of houses means it's much quieter and secluded than just about anywhere else on the river. It's a great launching spot for an ambitious paddle to the coast (about three miles) or a casual float or swim on the river. The compact, efficient kitchen is well-equipped with a full set of pots, pans, cooking utensils and appliances (stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker). A queen bed serves as the primary sleeping area. A custom-built sofa and a convertible sofabed, both with bedding available, provide two additional sleeping options. Or for the glamping experience, bring your sleeping bag and sleep out under the stars! The main bathroom has a full sized shower with custom tile and zebrawood accents. A secondary half bathroom attached to the bedroom area provides additional convenience including a full size washer and dryer available for guest use. Enjoy your playlist via bluetooth, your favorite Sirius FM station, or our vinyl collection on our audiophile Denon & Focal stereo system. The dual-zone indoor/outdoor system allows you to rock out while you whip up your gourmet meal while your companions lounge outside on the deck, listening to something a little more chill. There is no television available, but a mix of board games, puzzles and books can help pass the time. Guests have access to the entire house, yard and river access. Duncans Mills, just one mile east of the cabin offers a great bakery and coffee shop as well as a charming General Store (with excellent sandwiches...go for the house-smoked corned beef or pastrami if available) and a couple of local restaurants. Monte Rio is only a few miles up river and offers additional dining and recreation areas. If you're interested in exploring the coast, the cabin is located just three miles inland from Jenner, so getting to Shell Beach, Goat Rock, Bodega Bay or Fort Ross is easy! Guerneville is just 15 minutes away and Armstrong Redwoods State Park is just past Guerneville. Parking is right off of highway 116 in front of the fence. It's a narrow turnaround for westbound traffic (a three point turn for most cars) and can be easy to miss. Partially off the grid, this cabin has electricity but relies on satellite internet, delivered water and a septic system. We don't have any restrictions on use, but we ask guests to be mindful about their use. We do have a security camera outside to monitor the front gate and entrance area. Being right off of highway 116 means that there is road noise from the vehicles, and guests should expect to hear the occasional rumble from trucks or cars/motorcycles zooming past. There is a fair amount of traffic during the day, especially on summer weekends, but the evenings tend to be much more quiet and peaceful. The main closet is unfinished, so overall storage in the cabin is a little limited. There are a few tool, materials and fasteners in the closet, so those with young kids make sure to keep an eye out. Due to the small space, limited water and parking, we do not allow more than three overnight guests or more than three additional daytime visitors . We no longer have a floating dock. So while there is access to the river, it is down a set of stairs on a steep bank and is not easy to get in and out of the water.
