There you have a bigger choice of beaches, restaurants, bars etc. Rethymnon is 25 km away and Heraklion 50 km. You can move around by bus or car. The closest beach is at the qute Panormo little village and it's 20-30 minutes walk. There is also taverns, supermarkets etc there.
