Traditional Japanese architecture tucked away in a great Berkeley neighborhood. Peaceful and quiet but just a few blocks to UC Berkeley, all the restaurants of the "Gourmet Ghetto", and the North Berkeley Bart station. Brand new and very easy to use heater/air conditioner installed in March 2023 Berkeley Short Term Rental Registration # ZCSTR2017-0007. The space Traditional Japanese building with Tatami mats, organic queen size futon, and an "Ofuro"- a deep and luxurious soaking tub (similar feel to a hot tub). Entering the tub requires agility as it is high and you have to stand on a bench, sit on the edge of the tub, and swing your legs around. If you have any questions about that please ask (and see pictures). Lots of natural light with five skylights. Older wooden building with a somewhat rustic feel. The woven grass tatami mat floors have a noticeable smell of dry grass which we find to be lovely, but may not be for everyone. Comfortably sleeps 2 in new all natural foam mattress. Minimal kitchen with small fridge, tea kettle, and small toaster oven. We use fragrance free and non-toxic cleaning materials and provide Dr. Bronners hand soap. There is a fan available for use. We have a level-2 electric car charger (40A). This is available to guests for a reasonable additional fee depending on usage. It's a SAE J1772 style (works for most non-Tesla cars, or Tesla if you have an adapter). Guest access Cottage and garden and WIFI Other things to note Tranquil setting in a lovely neighborhood. Two hour parking on our street and no-permit (limited) parking one block away.
