The entire upstairs is very roomy and peaceful. 2 bedrooms with queens, large TV room with 5th person extra-long single bed. A kitchenette and newly remodeled bathroom. BIG wraparound porch to enjoy the garden. Historic Gold Rush towns, wineries, lakes, rivers, and winter sports are nearby. Yosemite's Highway 120 entrance is just a 1 1/2 hour drive away. The private, upstair accommodations are NOT shared with others unless guests are traveling together. The upstairs 1200 sq. ft. living space includes: two bedrooms (all beds have heated mattress option controls for those cold nights) a bathroom, recently remodeled ...includes tub and shower; a large family room with TV, DVD/video player, movies, and games; an extra-long, single bed for 5th guest; a kitchenette with table/chairs, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, toaster, cups, plates, utensils etc. snacks and drinks. For safety reasons, there are no cooking facilities. Guests have their own set of keys for bedrooms and front door. They may come and go as they please. Besides the upstairs accommodations, guests may also enjoy the large, covered, wrap around porch for a cup of coffee or evening refreshments. Spacious side lawn includes outdoor games (weather permitting) We respect our guest's preference for privacy or interaction. Tuolumne is an historic lumber town with a rural, small town feel. The mill has not been in operation since the early '60's. A well-maintained park and swimming pool (seasonal) are surrounded by wide streets and are one block of our home. The west entrance to Yosemite National Park is just 75 minutes away. If guests prefer not to drive, Yosemite Area Rapid Transit (YART) also provides seasonal bus services to Yosemite Valley and back three times a day from nearby Black Oak Casino. In the winter months, Dodge Ridge Winter Sports Area is just 25 miles up the hill for ski, snowboard, and cross country fun. Revive Cafe serves a great breakfast and lunch. It roasts its own delicious coffee, and is just a short walk from our home. Open 24 hours a day, Black Oak Casino Resort is five minutes away and has several restaurants, a twenty-four lane bowling alley, gas station and convenience store, and multiple casino activities. Our local grocery store, Tuolumne Market, is two minutes away. Covers Apple Ranch is two miles away and serves breakfast, lunch, and a variety of homemade bakery goods. Also a train ride and animals. The local towns of Twain Harte, Sonora, Columbia, and Murphys all have a variety of restaurants, shops, and historic sites of interest. Concerts in the Park & Open Air Market are held on Wednesday nights throughout the warmer months. Tuolumne County Transit provides transportation to several county towns seven times a day. It stops at the Post Office, which is about one block from our house. San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Lake Tahoe, and Sacramento are all between two and two and a half hours away. Yosemite Area Rapid Transit (YART) also provides seasonal bus services to Yosemite Valley and back three times a day from Black Oak Casino. Because our home is over one hundred years old, the stairs are steeper than current building standards. Handrails are available on both sides of stairwell if needed. Because the bathtub is on the upper level, we ask that you don't allow it to overflow as it will come through the first floor ceiling.
