The front entrance leads to a private apartment on the second and third floors. (The 1st floor is a separate apartment with a separate entrance and is also available on airb&b) From the entry hall, go up to the second floor level. This space includes a full kitchen, dining/sitting room, and carpeted bedroom with queen size bed. The full bath adjoining the bedroom is large and comfortable, with over sized shower and modern fixtures. You are renting this whole floor and the one above. One level up is a big loft space. A wall of windows offers panoramic views of the harbor and river. During the day the loft can be your spacious living room, with comfortable sofas, lots of books, a large TV, and music. At night, the largest sofa easily opens into a very comfortable queen size bed. This top quality sleeper has a solid platform, not springs, and really sleeps like a bed. There is also a twin bed in the “nook”, suitable for a child,so the loft can sleep 3. This floor also has a tastefully decorated full bathroom, making the loft space self contained. There is air conditioning on the third floor as well as one in the second floor bedroom. Window fans in other rooms. We live about 20 minutes away and can swing by if there is an issue. From this well-appointed village lodging, guests can stroll around Wiscasset visiting the many antique and specialty shops. Enjoy a meal out at one of the half dozen eateries within a few blocks of the apartment. Try the self guided walking tour of historic homes. Visit Castle Tucker House up the street or launch a kayak at the town dock. Traveling by car, the surrounding towns and peninsulas offer everything from whale watching to lighthouses, white sand beaches and one of the top botanical gardens in the country. Parking is free and on street in front of the house. Most of the time those spaces are available and it is fine to park there overnight. If they are taken there are two free public parking lots within a short stroll from the house. Although the deck on the first floor is for the use of the downstairs guests, the yard is for the use of both apts.
