The forest garden Adventure cabin is located in a secluded and peaceful location in the heart of Apple Hill. Enjoy wine tasting, agricultural and history tourism, skiing, hiking, golfing, rafting, cycling and many more activities. The home is located off the beaten path, 35 minutes to the summit of the Sierra, 20 minutes to historical Placerville and other gold rush attractions, and just a few minutes to many of the apple hill farms. Note: This is a RURAL location. This unconventional cabin is all about the kitchen and the deck! The large kitchen is where a chef can enjoy cooking local foods or you can just sit and sip some wine on the deck which is just another "room" through the french doors from the kitchen. Its the perfect place to unplug and spend time with family and friends. The large 1000 ft sq deck overlooks the peaceful and serene forest setting. Herb and flower gardens surround the home for your enjoyment. Watch deer, bobcats, birds, hawks and many other wildlife pass through the yard. Two whimsical rooms are upstairs with a full bath complete with real antique bath and sink from a famous hotel in San Francisco. Downstairs is the area for TV with a queen and twin trundle, sleeper sofa and full kid friendly bathroom. An office area offers an art and fun area for kids and adults alike complete with games, puzzles, books, art supplies and desks for activities. A full laundry room is also accessed downstairs. Guests must be able to climb stairs. Guests have access to entire home area except for storage/ service room, owners private space. First floor has kitchen, full bath, 2 bedrooms, open living area with wood burning stove, and french doors open to large tree house like deck. Second floor has an office/ craft room, laundry, full bathroom, and bonus TV den/bedroom. The bonus room has a queen and twin trundle beds for the kids, and sofa sleeper. Interaction with guests I leave the level of interaction up to you my guests. I can also assist in planning activities/attractions around the area. The neighborhood is in an area with other vacation homes and residents who also enjoy the peace and serenity of the forest, and rural lifestyle. It is off the beaten path, away from the hustle and traffic. The location is RURAL in forested surroundings which adds to the privacy and adventure. Winter travel can be challenging in this location. The quiet neighboorhood is good for peaceful walks, bicycles, and wildlife watching. It is not near any major throughfare so it is not accessible by public transportation. Lyft may be available during reasonable hours. PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR MOUNTAIN TRAVEL. This cabin is located at 3000 ft elevation. On occasion it may snow during winter months, the highway may have chain controls. AWD high clearance or 4WD are required during winter weather conditions. Snow plowing is always slow to get to the cabin and it may take a day or so. Please check the weather forcast before booking for visit during the winter. **** THIS CABIN IS IN A POTENTIAL WILDFIRE ZONE. The forest is what makes this cabin setting so wonderful, however it is in a rural setting. You may be asked to leave if any wildfire risk comes up or evacuate at any time. Additionally, PG&E may at anytime turn off the electricity for public safety. Smoke may be an issue. This is the new reality for residents in the Sierra. ***Corona-Virus Update. The space is cleaned after each guest according to CDC guidelines. I encourage each guest to use sensibilities when visiting the area. Small communities will not have the resources to deal with high impact health issues such as corona-virus. Please be mindful in your activities, Do not travel if you feel ill. wash your hands. bring your own hand sanitizer, wipes and face masks. Some businesses may ask people to wear masks. Please be respectful of our essential workers as they continue to provide for us. ****By booking this property you will be asked to acknowledge that this is a rural property with accommodations that correspond to the rural lifestyle. This is not a luxury vacation rental. This property provides an adventurous experience to unplug and reunite with nature and connect with family and friends. Trail maps, local activities, local winery and brewery information, and guides are all in the house as well as many of the essentials you may have forgotten– such as shampoo, soap, extra toothbrushes, hair dryer. Bedrooms have heated mattress pads for added cozyness in the winter. There is a whole house fan upstairs and room fans in each for summer months in addition to air conditioning. There are art supplies, board games, puzzles, books and desks for kids and adults alike to express their talents.
