Be our guest at historic Wimer's Mill, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania built in sections dating to 1777 and 1798. Unwind to the sound of a rushing waterfall and the clip-clop of Amish buggies in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch countryside. Be our guest at historic Wimer's Mill, in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Amish are our neighbors, and buggies are a common sight on Stony Hill Road. Sit on the terrace on summer nights, and listen to bullfrogs call to each other, and watch fireflies twinkle from the grass to the treetops. A fire pit is available upon request and weather permitting. We are within easy driving distance to all Lancaster County attractions, including historic Lancaster city, outlet malls, all Amish tourist attractions, Sight and Sound, American Music Theater, and more. Make this your base for day trips to Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Wilmington, Hershey Park, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. The Historic Brandywine River attractions are less than an hour away, including Winterthur, Longwood Gardens, and the Brandywine River Museum. A favorite weekend pastime is treasure hunting at the famous antique malls in Adamstown (open only on Sunday). We are a ten minute drive to historic Strasburg. Area restaurants to suit all tastes. Spend a busy day touring, and return home to the relaxing setting of Wimer's Mill. Built in sections dating to 1777 and 1798, the mill spun hemp, wove linen and woolen cloth, pressed linseed cake and oil, and built Conestoga wagons. There are many country roads for walking and biking. Access to the Low Grade Enola Line Rails-To-Trails is within a couple of miles. There are wooded paths on the property at Wimer's Mill for short hikes along Big Beaver Creek. WiFi, small refrigerator, coffee maker, and a microwave are available for your use. If guests do not plan to eat breakfast out, rolls, fruit and juice will be set out for a continental breakfast. There is a small sitting area with a table between two our guest bedrooms, with shared, separate bathroom. The room is on the third floor of the mill. Book your in door business conference, quilter, scrap-booking, or writers retreat for up to 20 participants. A woodland chapel behind the mill pond is available to host small weddings and special gatherings. Guests have access to downstairs dining room and hall, two fireplaces, and sitting area. This is a beautiful 8+ acre property, complete with stream and waterfall, 3 ponds, garden, and wooded walking trails. Your hosts will happily answer questions and give advice about your stay in the area. Wimer's Mill is located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch countryside, with easy access to Lancaster City, Lancaster County tourist attractions, Chester County, and major metropolitan areas, including Philadelphia, Baltimore, Hershey, Gettysburg, Harrisburg, and more. Guest parking available on site. Wimer's Mill is home to 2 friendly cats, who are blocked off from all guest areas. However, this may not be the best listing for people who are highly allergic to cats. The room is on the third floor of the mill.
