Romantic get away in a wooded setting minutes from Ptbo and Millbrook. We are approx 3 min off the 115 hwy, 15 min off the 407 hwy, <2 hours from Toronto. Our Bunkie is perfect for anyone looking for a furnished getaway in the Kawarthas nestled in a natural setting that includes wifi-STARLINK (not hi speed) The space Bunkie in the heart of the Kawartha’s Close to: Trent Systems Waterways, Trans Canada Trail, downtown Peterborough, Trent University, Fleming College, Kawartha Downs And Shoreline Casino, numerous nearby golf courses, Cobourg Beach on Lake ON 1/2 hr south east, Peterborough Showplace and Markethall, Memorial Centre (concerts, Lakers Lacrosse Peterborough Petes-hockey) Millbrook Valley Trails, (great for both hiking and biking enthusiasts) Squirrel Creek Conservative Area (beach), Emily Provincial Park (beach) Riverview Park and Zoo (free) Lang Pioneer Village, Century Barn Wedding Venue, 4th Line Theatre, Ganaraska Forest, Kawartha ATV trails, Tim Hortons, No Frills, Costco, Indoor/Outdoor Pickleball courts, Free outdoor summer concerts (Little Lake) canoe museum and outdoor markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. A bird watchers paradise! As you step inside your Bunkie, you’ll feel yourself unwinding into the quiet of serene country. Guests share with us that it’s the perfect spot to relax in beautiful grounds, cozy, simple, comfortable space. Cavan Creek meanders thru the middle of our property. In the winter, hike the snowy trails after your morning coffee, then relax by the indoor crackling wood stove. When it’s time for a nap or bed, a pillow top queen, and/or a double/single bunk bed is waiting for you. There are 2 comfortable full size couches complete with satellite TV, wifi (rural), and bathroom with new shower stall. We live approx 150 ft directly from the bunkie which is clearly visible from our log home. There is a privacy fence between the bunkie and our home. Our quaint Bunkie sits in a nature/wooded wonderland. We’re located on protected wetlands. During the months of June thru Aug we highly recommend wearing loose clothing and bring bug spray to ensure a comfortable stay. We live in the middle of protected wetlands therefore expect seasonal bugs during this timeframe. Consider bringing a thermacell during this time. During the colder months you’re welcome to a crackling indoor fire, using the indoor fireplace. We supply paper. Our guests are responsible for any kindling needs, using the hatchet provided. Guest access Unique Bunkie complete with outdoor propane BBQ, picnic table eating area, outdoor firepit, inside wood stove. There are 2 miles of marked trails on the property for guests to enjoy. Inside there is a newly renovated kitchen with a full fridge, stove, toaster oven, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, slow cooker, rice maker, and blender. During the months of Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar and Apr we are happy to provide wood for INDOOR fires only. Our guests make/find their own kindling. **If you’d like an outside fire during the months listed above, we invite you to purchase your own firewood. Other things to note You'll drive down a long private driveway to a beautiful wooded area where the Bunkie sits off to the right of the circular driveway. We have 2 very friendly dogs (female black lab + female chocolate lab) that live on our property and roam freely. If you plan to bring your dog (1 dog allowed per stay, no cats due to allergies) with you, when booking your reservation, please indicate the age, gender, temperament, and breed of your dog.
