From here guests can board the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train, sit back and relax as it chugs its way through the stunning Esk Valley into ‘Heartbeat’s’ villages of Goathland and Grosmont. Pickering hosts many festivals throughout the year, including the renowned Steam Traction Rally, and fascinating war weekend in October, when the streets are packed with visitors from far and wide dressed in their 1940’s outfits. At this time, the streets and the railway station are transported back to days gone by, a fabulous weekend for all ages.
