Description
Welcome to Chetstone, a beautifully preserved Victorian Carpenter Gothic mansion dating from the 1870s. The light-filled house is perfect for a retreat with friends or a family reunion. The space The spacious first floor includes a wraparound front porch, a music room with a grand piano, a living room, dining room, a big kitchen, and a powder room. The backyard, with a bluestone patio and charcoal grill, is also available for guests. Guest access Guests have full access to the first and second floors of the house, the backyard, and the laundry room in the basement. Other things to note We provide tea and whole-bean coffee which guests can grind fresh to prepare with a Chemex, french press, or percolator. Guests are welcome to supplies in the fridge and pantry. We are avid cooks, so the kitchen has all the essentials (and a fair number of non-essentials) for preparing meals. Please note there is no central A/C. We provide portable and window AC units and fans in the bedrooms and have found it's generally comfortable at night even in the heat of summer. However, if you’re sensitive to heat, please note that you will likely not be comfortable if there’s a heat wave (daytime temperatures above 90) which is possible from mid-June through mid-September. We provide space heaters and extra blankets for the New England winter.
