Description

This is a fully equipped, fully functional yurt with all the amenities of home. It's the largest prefab yurt on the market. It's the perfect summer or fall retreat. For those willing to brave the cold it's also available in the winter months. Located in the magnificent Unaweep canyon, the yurt is surrounded by steep granite walls and blue skies that span in every direction. Just miles away from the Gateway Canyons Resort, this unique area has something for everyone. The space Nomadic tribes of Mongolia still live in yurts today. While the modern yurt has adopted a few design options the essence of living in a round structure remains the same. Surprisingly the yurt is 760 sqft! There is a full bath with running water, hot too! The kitchen is modest but offers all the essentials. There is an oven with stovetop, full size fridge/freezer, microwave and two compartment sink. Dishes, silverware, pots, pans, cooking utensils and of course a French press. Furnishings include a wooden dining table and chairs. A custom hand carved log bed (queen). A couch/pullout and a rocking chair. Guest access The yurt is easy to access, 2wd vehicles will have no problem (with maybe an exception during winter months). There is a driveway with a green gate. Follow the driveway up and around behind the yurt. Other things to note The area offers a wide range of activities suitable for all tastes. Whether you're looking to relax or prefer something more adventurous the yurt can be base camp for both. Hiking/ Horseback riding / biking/ atv tours/ rockclimbing/ wildlife viewing/ Gateway Auto Museum The Wildcat trailhead is located at mile marker 133. It's a moderately strenuous hike from the canyon floor to the rim of the Uncompaghre plateau. The trail begins in a meadow and meanders up through oak brush, Aspen groves and eventually into the towering Ponderosa pines. Once on top the views of the canyon are plentiful. If you're looking for more great hiking head south to Gateway Canyons Resort. Definitely check this place out and be sure to ask the guys at the adventure for recommendations.
