The Sea Nest - A welcoming oasis for all is located within Colwood, part of Greater Victoria. (Provincial Registration # H420984100. Municipal Licence # 5533.) A beautiful studio and patio with its own private entrance. It is 15 to 20 minutes from Victoria and is on a bus route. Walk 1/2 a block to a 3 Km beach, look across at Victoria and the Olympic Mountains and you may see otters and whales. Across Esquimalt Lagoon, a bird sanctuary, is Dunsmuir castle, part of Royal Roads University. The space The fully lighted entrance is to the right of our house where you also have your own large private patio framed with a cedar pergola. Inside is a studio with it’s own kitchenette, full bathroom, sitting and sleeping area. Walk through the French doors and to your right you will see a beautiful wall mural of a cherry tree with birds framing your queen size bed. Walk past the barn door into the west coast themed 3 piece bathroom (shower only - no bathtub) which includes a handcrafted full length mirror and antique dresser. The kitchenette has a fridge/freezer along with a countertop oven. Small appliances are listed in the amenities section. A small, portable, kitchen table can fold out to seat 4. Watch TV or stream video using the complimentary Sea Nest Netflix App through your own private, secure high speed Internet connection. There is also a sofa which has a chase lounge and folds out to a sofa bed. While 1 or 2 adults can used it, the sofa bed is generally for 2 children. Parking is free and is at the top of our driveway between the yellow line and the road. Guest access You will have complete private access to your studio with its own entrance. A keypad is located on a cylinder below the left door handle. Rotate the cylinder to either lock or unlock the door once your code is entered. Details of this and other features are available in the Check-in instructions and the Guest Manual which you can access once the room is booked. Other things to note - Parking: ** Please park in our driveway between the yellow line and the road** (so as not to block our vehicle garage door) - thanks. - We have special locking French doors. Quick details are included in the check-in instructions (with images) that are sent to you one or two days before your arrival. Use the keypad on the cylinder located below the left door handle. You will have been provided with your personal code to open it. See the check in instructions for more details. The left handle of the left door must be vertical when locking or unlocking it and must be horizontal when opening or closing the door. * The doors will not close properly if the handles are in the vertical position (the latches will not engage). The right door operates the same way but there is no lock in it. That door must be closed before the left door (with the lock in it) is. Please contact us if you have any issues with it. - Please ensure the correct number of Guests are listed when you book. This is for a safety reason should there be an emergency and first responders need to be called. The price of The Sea Nest is based on 2 Guests. It is $20 per night for each Guest over that number. The maximum number of extra Guests allowed is 2 (bringing the total number of Guests to 4). - The main bed has a feather mattress topper that covers the mattress and is soft and comfortable. For those who prefer a hard mattress we can either remove it for you or you can remove it yourself. Please let us know if you remove it yourself and we can put out a bin for you to store it in. - The size of the studio: While there are sleeping arrangements for 4 adults, the unit has been described as "cozy but with all the amenities". It is under 500 square feet. Please keep this in mind if your group travels with a lot of luggage. - Outdoor lights: Pergola lights (either LED string lights or Christmas lights) are on a timer and will shut off at approximately 2130 (9:30 PM). The two entrance lights on either side of the doors each have photo sensors and will shut off automatically during the day. The light switch is located inside between the left door and the window. - Our dogs do not have any access to the studio or your fenced in patio. ** The Sea Nest's Municipal Business License is 5533 found on the City of Colwood website.
