Located in Lake Arrowhead’s Twin Peaks Neighborhood: This serene area is an ideal getaway for the whole family and makes a great home base for all of the summer and winter activities Lake Arrowhead and San Bernardino Mountain Resorts have to offer. Our 3 rules: *no smoking no pets (sorry, no exceptions.) *no grilling or bonfires (we're surrounded by trees!) Check-in: 5pm Check-out: 12 Noon The space THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE is a quaint 1930s mountain home with a charming family room & vintage fireplace, a farmhouse-style dining area, cozy upstairs bonus room, a private front porch and spacious outdoor deck. THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE! HOME DESCRIPTION BEDROOMS: Sleeping arrangements (5 bedrooms): • First Bedroom (downstairs): Queen bed • Second Bedroom (downstairs): 2 bunk beds (full-over-full & twin-over-twin) • Third Bedroom (upstairs): Queen bed • Fourth Bedroom (upstairs): 1 bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top) • Fifth Bedroom (upstairs): 1 bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top) DINING & KITCHEN: Located on the main floor of the home with an extended farmhouse table for casual dining, a nicely appointed buffet cabinet, and picturesque windows overlooking the tree-lined backyard deck. Guests can enjoy the many other comfortable amenities that our home provides. HOME AMENITIES A fully stocked kitchen with: - Gas cooktop and oven - Fridge w/freezer - Cookware essentials (pots, pans, bakeware, cutlery, etc.) - Non-stick frying pans - Dinnerware, glassware & flatware - Tea kettle - Toaster - Microwave - Coffee maker *12-cup coffee maker with a thermal carafe, brews regular ground coffee with cone coffee paper filters. LIVINGROOM: The main living area is adjacent to the kitchen and has cozy & comfortable seating for guests. Our home has two central heating systems for maximum whole-house comfort and the original wood-burning fireplace! BATHROOMS: • Two (2) beautifully tiled full-sized bathrooms; one on each level (w/a shower & vanity). We are close to skiing - just 25 minutes from Snow Valley Ski Resort and 45 minutes from Big Bear Lake and more skiing, snowboarding & sledding. Just a 5-minute drive to Blue Jay Village; Jensen’s Grocery, Starbucks Coffee, casual dining & shopping - and a scenic, 10-minute drive to both downtown Lake Arrowhead Village & Shops; Stater Bros. Marketplace, outlet shopping, antiquing & fine dining. Additionally, Lake Gregory Regional Park is just a short drive away with scenic lake trails tucked in the cool cedar and pine forest of the San Bernardino Mtns. The lake offers outdoor activities for all ages! Although we no longer offer a hot tub as an amenity, we recommend that guests check out the spa offerings at Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa of The Pines. The resort has a wellness center, equipped with spa services to make your trip even more relaxing and memorable! Guest access GUEST ACCESS All of it! You have access to the entire house. The cabin is setup to be your home away from home. Please note: There are two storage closets on the main floor (one adjacent to the kitchen & the other in the downstairs bunkroom) that are locked and not accessible to guests. *Arrival & check-in time is by 5pm. *Departure & check-out is by 12 Noon. Note to guests: Q: DO WE ALLOW EARLY CHECK-INS? A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early check-ins -- as it will not allow our housekeeper enough time to fully prepare the home for you. Q: CAN I GET A LATE CHECK-OUT? A: Unfortunately, we cannot grant late check-outs. Our housekeeper is on a tight schedule to clean multiple homes, and we cannot accommodate a late check-out request. Thank you for your understanding. PARKING - There is convenient vehicle parking in the driveway, for up to 3 vehicles. *Please avoid parking on the street. **NOISE DISTURBANCES - Please be respectful of all neighbors. Noise travels easily in the mountains & we ask that our guests be respectful of the full-time residents that live nearby. Your reservation is for a quiet, relaxing & enjoyable stay! Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED? A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is surrounded by forest. **MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - Please abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at all times. Q: CAN I INVITE MORE PEOPLE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LISTED? A: Maximum occupancy does not only refer to the number a home can sleep, this is also the number of people allowed in the home at any given time. It is determined by the licensing authority based on the number of exits in the home and fire safety codes. **San Bernardino County has codes that are strictly enforced. Be sure to abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at ALL times. As a guest, you are welcome to use all of the amenities provided. We want our guests to enjoy all we have to offer. All we ask is that you treat our home with care. Happy & Safe Travels! Other things to note - There is central heating, delivering warm air to the living area and all the bedrooms both upstairs and downstairs. -Smoke-free home. No smoking or vaping. **Thank you! -There is no A/C in the home, we have fans to cool the upstairs bedrooms. -Sorry, no pets/animals. **We promise our allergy-sensitive guests a pet/dander-free home. -Original wood-burning fireplace: Bring a bundle of firewood if you'd like to cozy up next to the fireplace! **Please bring your own supply of firewood and you may want to bring Duraflame logs and firelighters to help with starting the fireplace. This is an original, wood-burning fireplace with no gas supply. -No BBQ/grilling on premises. **Due to the Extreme Fire Danger** To reduce risk of wildfire during severe weather conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that. Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages or internet/Wi-Fi interruptions and that they'll happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests! Q: Is there a hot tub at the house? A: Although we do not offer a hot tub as an amenity, we recommend that guests check out the spa offerings at Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa of the Pines. They have a wellness center equipped with spa & fitness amenities to make your visit even more relaxing and memorable! Q: WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY TRIP? A: PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED!!! Be sure to check the local forecast for weather conditions. In the fall & winter months expect fog, rain, sleet and snow. Roads can be very icy, and the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions. Q: DO I NEED TIRE CHAINS ON MY VEHICLE? A: During the SNOW season it is wise to carry snow chains. CHP requires possession of chains/cables when traveling mountain roads in icy conditions. Chains can be purchased at the base of the mountain near Highland Avenue & Hwy 330 at the Super Walmart. *Be sure to get the right size for your tires. Q: WILL I HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW? A: YES! Our neighborhood road is plowed by the county - but our driveway, parking area, entry, steps and deck are not. Guests are responsible for removing snow should it snow during their stay. **Snow shovels are located at the cabin -- shoe/boot chains are highly recommended when conditions are snowy and icy. *We look forward to sharing our mountain retreat with you!
