For a perfect break on the shores of picturesque Lake Taupo, treat yourself to a stay at Braxmere – the ultimate in Southern Lake Taupo accommodation. Whether you’re seeking a weekend escape, or planning an extended holiday in one of the most popular parts of New Zealand, Braxmere offers you the complete experience. With self-contained units, we are nestled in a quiet, secluded location, you’ll find everything you need to unwind and revel in the fresh air. The space All units have uninterrupted lake views, Braxmere is set on the southern shores of Lake Taupo with 10 x 1 bedroom Units. Your Unit has a fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom, lounge (with a fold out double sofa-bed) in the open plan living space. The bedroom has a king size bed. Your Unit sleeps up to 4 people. Your Unit is the second one when you drive in. Braxmere is located in a secluded spot right on the edge of Lake Taupo. Perfect to relax, unwind and feel like you are miles away - Turangi and the local shopping center are an 8 minute drive; the start of the Tongariro Crossing - Ketetahi - is just 22 minutes and Whakapapa Ski Field is 45 minutes away. Taupo and the airport are a 50 minute drive from Braxmere. There is a communal BBQ for you to use and each unit has it's own outdoor table and seats. We have a communal laundry with washing machine & dryer in our laundry cabin. You will need to have coins to operate the machines - washing machine is $3/load and dryer is $2/load. We do not have a reception, but operate a self check-in service with a lockbox by your entrance door. Guest access Enjoy the 2 acres of lawn and space along the lake. We have a boat ramp for launching your boat or jet ski. (At the moment we are waiting for the insurance to have the ramp repaired after severe damage from Cyclone Gabrielle - so the jetty is not available for use.) You have access to our laundry room via a pin-pad lock - the laundry is shared with the other guests and our housekeeper. You have your own parking space directly ourside your unit and beside your entrance door. Please be mindful that the parking area for your unit is also parking for the next door unit, please keep to your side of the parking space so that other guests can park their cars beside their unit too. There is also plenty of extra parking in front of the main entrance to Braxmere and boat parking at the rear of the property. Other things to note Our units are not serviced on a daily basis, if you are staying for 4 or more nights, we will give your unit a quick clean through and change all the linen during your stay. If you require additional towels or other linen, please feel free to contact me or ask one of our housekeepers, who are usually on site between about 10am and 1pm. There are a number of local eateries within 10km of Braxmere Lodge and the local supermarket, New World, is in Turangi - about 7km away from Braxmere. The restaurant next door to Braxmere Lodge - is no longer open.
