Montebuono Trebbiano Apartment
Agriturismo Casale Contessa
Description
The space On the border between Lazio and Umbria, in the heart of Sabina, immersed in the lush valley of Fianello di Montebuono, among luxuriant olive groves and fragrant rows of precious vineyards, in the harmonious quiet of the ancient Sabine land, lies the Casale Contessa Agriturismo, a family-run organic farm. Cozy and equipped with every modern comfort, the structure is ideally combined with the mild and temperate climate bestowed by Mother Nature. The Casale Contessa agritourism offers the stressed and tired city dweller, weary of chaotic city life, the opportunity for a peaceful and serene rest away from the disturbing roar of a city that overwhelms and cancels. Spending time at Casale Contessa means rediscovering your identity, renewing yourself with the exhilaration of pure, filtering air, diving into living and pulsating nature, savoring the True, the Beautiful, the Good in all their intense and shining brightness, and finally reshaping your taste buds with the fine flavors of Sabine Gastronomy that admirably enhances the purity of wheat flour, the extra virgin olive oil, the ruby red pastiness of the juice of the vine. Lying on an OASIS mystically consecrated by the vestiges of Imperial Rome, testified by the innumerable traces of surrounding ruins, and the authoritative presence of Christianity since its certified dawn, the Casale Contessa enjoys a privileged position in an engaging itinerary both for the archaeological reminiscences and for the splendor of the Romanesque churches that surround it. The vibrant village of Fianello, probably a legacy of the Flavians first and, later, a Medieval Castle donated by the abbot of Farfa in 1037, to then become the prerogative of the Orsini and then of the Savelli, is a treasure of inestimable value, which with its sacred and civil monuments, is the luster and pride of the entire territory: you can admire the Church of Santa Maria (12th century), the rural churches of San Sebastiano and San Lorenzo (founded "ab immemorabile"), the Parish Church of San Giovanni Battista (16th century), the Longobard Tower (6th century), and the characteristic Medieval Oven. A stay at Casale Contessa allows you to enjoy your "ozi" (as the Latins would say) not only to rejuvenate your exhausted body, but above all to restore your spirit by immersing yourself in the reading of exciting books and savoring the slender Romanesque bell towers and the noble and severe architecture of the cathedrals of the 12th century, as well as the archaeological sites, of which the vast area of the Agro ForoNovano Sabino-Umbro is particularly rich. Within a radius of 15 km, with the Agriturismo as the epicenter, you can admire Montebuono S. Pietro ai Muricento (12th century) and the Hermitage of San Benedetto, 11th century; the Sanctuary of S. Maria della Lode, 12th century, in Vescovio, which rises among the archaeological remains of the ancient Forum Novum; also worth visiting is S. Maria Assunta, 12th century, in Tarano. The Roman Villa of the Cotta, 1st century BC, and the Hermitage of S. Cataldo with the surreal expanse of the cottanello meadows; isolated with the church of S. Francesco, 12th century, and the sanctuary of Monte S. Pancrazio in Calvi dell'Umbria; on the southern horizon stands the monumental Soratte with the Nazzano Tevere-Farfa Nature Reserve nearby. Going up from the Agriturismo towards the north, we enter the beauties of Franciscan Umbria, which imposes itself on the attention of a visitor with its peculiar Sanctuaries of the Sacro Speco and the Madonna del Ponte in the territory of Narni, to conclude the excursion to the famous Marmore Falls. Finally, not to be overlooked is the proximity to Rome (45 minutes by car), which allows you to immerse yourself in the Roman Classicism, a source of civilization, law and life. The structure was built by recovering with wisdom and inventiveness an old stable with an adjacent barn, thus giving rise to four comfortable and spacious apartments, set with logistical functionality between the thick green of the trees and the fragrant regurgitation of nature. In this pleasant agricultural oasis, accessibility is facilitated to the maximum for the disabled, who can enjoy large spaces without incurring any risk. Children can run around in the green clearings, happily recreating in the sun and air without any danger. Guests of the Agriturismo can enjoy the company of their four-legged friends, both dogs and cats, for the relief and relaxation of the body and psyche. Motorcycle and horseback riding excursions are also not excluded, taking advantage of the existing clubs in the area for both motorcycle and horseback riding enthusiasts.
