Agritourism in the heart of Salento "La Soffitta" is in the historic center of a characteristic Salento village, Castiglione d'Otranto, and takes its name from its history, since from the end of the 17th century a mill and an oven were annexed to the ancient fortified palace. Today, "La Soffitta" is a small agritourism with a typically Salento flavor, with an ancient and relaxing atmosphere, also due to its romantic orange grove of about one hectare. The space "La Soffitta" is an old building (1700) with a large garden and large terrace available to guests. The furnishings are antique because the Host refuses modern furniture agglomerated with probably carcinogenic glues: everything is organic, from the natural lime painting of the entire building, to the materials used for the restoration, to the breakfasts with typical Salento products largely produced by the same company. The rooms, very atmospheric, are some on the ground floor, others on the first floor, these can be reached with very suggestive ancient stairs. We organize walks for nature, sports and archaeological purposes, both on foot and by bike and on horseback for those who know how to ride.
