The Beauregard, built in 1893, is a quaint 2 bedroom Victorian house in the historic village of Ferndale. The home has been lovingly furnished with antiques & reproductions and the gardens are carefully maintained. The back patio has a water fountain and dining set. A popular burger stand is next door and downtown Ferndale, with its Victorian architecture, shopping, dining, historic museum and parks is 0.6 miles away. The Beauregard is a comfortable, intimate Victorian space for you to enjoy by yourself or with family or friends. There is free, off-street parking for 2 cars, keyless entry and ample space (with 3 walk-in closets) to store your belongings once you arrive. The entire house is comfortably furnished with antique and repro furniture and vintage-inspired lighting and window coverings. The walls showcase antique and contemporary photographs of local people, scenery and industry. Free high speed wireless internet is provided. The Living Room: ~ Has hardwood floors with rugs, comfortable sofas with pillows and throws ~ Has refinished antique chairs and loveseat ~ The Beauregard Guest Book is found on the coffee table, which contains recommendations for day trips, including detailed descriptions, maps and photos. ~ Has a Roku tv mounted on the wall, with remote ~ Has a gas fireplace The kitchen: ~ On the counter, our guests will find a Keurig K-cafe machine with which they can make regular coffee, lattes or cappuccinos (instructions included) ~ Features the original (antique) painted cupboards, which are filled with an assortment of coffee pods, tea bags, chai mix, coconut, almond and soy milks, sugar, splenda and coffee mate. ~ Has a "heartland" (vintage-inspired yet modern) range ~ The refrigerator contains low fat milk, La Croix sparkling water and Crystal geyser mineral water. The Dining Area: ~ Has an oak table with 6 chairs and hardwood floor with lovely rug and antique sideboard ~ Has a window that overlooks the side yard junipers, ferns and a Japanese maple The Bedrooms: ~ Both bedrooms have beds made with 100% cotton sateen sheets and have stained glass lamps on either side of the bed ~ The queen bedroom has 2 windows, a four poster bed and Roku tv with remote ~ The queen bedroom has a small video library of movies that were filmed in Ferndale ~ The full bedroom has one window and an old cradle with teddy bears The bathroom: ~ Has a tub/shower combination with mirrored door for privacy ~ The "luxury" towels are white and fluffy ~ Has Nexxus shampoo and conditioner and floral scented body wash There is also laundry room with washer and dryer Private outdoor spaces for guests: ~ The backyard has a patio with table, umbrella and 4 chairs, a built-in grill, bubbling water fountain, and lovely lawn and foliage. ~ The side yard also has a lush green lawn and a variety of plants. ~ The front yard has a lawn with a rose garden, camellias and other flowering plants. Guests of the Beauregard have full access to the home, yards and back patio. I live close by in the town of Fortuna and will be available by phone and text during the entirety of your stay. The Beauregard is right next door to a local's favorite burger stand, 0.6 miles from Ferndale town center, six miles from Centerville beach, and close to many hiking trails. The Guest Book details several memorable local day car trips, complete with maps and photos. Ferndale is a Victorian village, with great shopping (mostly featuring local arts, crafts and antiques) and dining ,and even a lovely park with hiking trails (Russ park). Ferndale also has a small museum, which has been described as a "hidden gem". Ferndale and surrounds are known for many dairy farms. There is an organic ice cream factory in Fernbridge and a cheese factory in nearby Loleta, which offers tours and has a grilled cheese garden cafe. In August of each year, Ferndale is the site of the popular county fair. Ferndale town center is walkable from the Beauregard, though a car is highly recommended, as there are many beautiful scenic drives close by. Attn: COVID-19 cleaning policies: The Beauregard has pledged with Airbnb to clean and disinfect all commonly touched surfaces and linens per AirBnb and CDC policy. This includes washing all linens, including towels and mattress pads, in hot water and drying on "high", between guest stays, and cleaning and disinfecting all door knobs, cabinet handles, furniture and kitchen surfaces, appliances and handles between guest stays. I ask that you remove your shoes prior to entering the Beauregard, and that you refrain from smoking or vaping while staying at the house.
