If you’re a fan of New Orleans, you’ll love staying in this fantasy oasis in the town where the movie Groundhog Day was filmed. The Mardi Gras House, like the City of Woodstock, is diversity-friendly, welcoming people of all races, nationalities, and sexual orientations. Enjoy a luxury experience where you feel at home while enjoying the beauty and excitement of your unique surroundings. Guests often say their stay at the Mardi Gras House was a significant part of their traveling adventure. The Mardi Gras House dates to 1912 and has been lovingly restored with indoor gaslights and other exquisite architectural details. Rooms include a 1920s French dress shop, 1890s New Orleans brothel and séance room, 1930s Art Deco movie palace, and a railroad-themed jazz lounge. Luxuriate in the 1850s’ Chinese Courtyard with authentic imported Chinese tiles surrounding your queen-sized bed and other artifacts from the mid-1800s. Other amenities include your own Private Hot Tub (minimum one-day advance booking to provide prep time), high-end black-and-white marble bath, sauna and spa, gym, bar, and laundry. A fabulous cook’s kitchen awaits you as well, shared by you and your hosts, Craig, Debbie, and Kendri. Be as secluded as you like or join in salon-style conversations with your hosts. The Mardi Gras House is two blocks from the historic Courthouse Square, Woodstock Opera House, Ethereal Event Space, and Woodstock Square, boasting shopping, dining, live entertainment, and an eight-screen movie theater. On and around the Square, visit the numerous sites where Groundhog Day was filmed. The Mardi Gras House is also two blocks from the train station where trains run every other hour to and from Chicago. Save your fair to the French Quarter and stay with us, or come from the French Quarter and feel right at home! Private bedroom, bath, hot tub, spa/sauna, and jazz lounge. Shared kitchen, great room, living room, dining room, theatre, front and rear porches, gym, and laundry. We will greet you personally and show you to your accommodations. The Mardi Gras House is located in a quiet residential neighborhood two blocks from the historic Woodstock Square. The train station to and from Chicago is also two blocks from the house. The Woodstock Public Library is half a block away. Overnight parking on the driveway. Leave keys on front desk for jockeying of cars. Call if you need an early arrival or luggage drop off time. We are happy to provide Mardi Gras House tours, information about city events and current activities, and local shopping, dining, and entertainment recommendations.
