Huge bay views from your own big deck over the water, from the lovely living & dining areas, from your master bedroom space, from your modern kitchen - even from your shower! Hear the waves! Enjoy glorious sunsets, and see the evening lights from San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge! New ferry direct to SF! *PLEASE CONTACT US WITH AN "INQUIRY" BEFORE REQUESTING DATES! THANK YOU!* The space Hello! We are Jeff and Viv. We fell in love in Point Richmond! We’ve managed to buy our dream home on a wonderful secluded pebble beach here on the SF Bay. It’s a unique and special place and we feel blessed to be its guardians. Daily we are nourished by the sounds of the bay and the daily comings and goings of the coots, cormorants, pelicans, gulls and the occasional sea lion or harbor seal. We are told that the house was brought over from San Francisco on a barge in the very early 1900's and set in this spectacular location! The home has a completely equipped private lower unit with a modern kitchen with bamboo cabinets, living area, dining area and two bathrooms, one with a walk in shower, with fabulous views of the bay. And your own private deck, right over the beach! Hardwood floors with tribal carpets, exquisite Asian antiques and artwork collected from around the world. In addition to two private bedrooms, there is a third sleeping area which seems to be everyone's favorite! (It's definitely ours!) It opens onto the deck with sliding glass doors - and the view and sounds of the bay are amazing! It's furnished with a queen sized bed, an incredibly comfortable eco-friendly Keetsa Tea Leaf mattress, and Japanese tansu chests - and can be partly separated from the main living area by two folding screens. Come join us in this magic and healing place where you can eat your breakfast and watch the pelicans dive for theirs! You can wake up and go to sleep listening to the waves. The sunsets will take your breath away and the views are just outstanding. The location is excellent for going to San Francisco, to Berkeley and other east bay spots, Marin, Muir Woods, and Napa. But you just might find yourself happy to stay put and have a relaxing vacation in this seaside village. We both love Richmond and particularly, Point Richmond, "the Bay Area's best kept secret. The shoreline is amazing! There are public sand beaches, wonderful hiking trails at Nichol Nob, excellent live community theater, world class restaurants, a thriving art and music community, an award winning municipal swimming palace, a rugby bar that’s a great place to watch Steph Curry and the Warriors win another one, a terrific ladies clothes store, a fabulous gallery of Asian antiques and so much more! A new wine tasting room on the water, a child-friendly brewery, and a new Vietnamese restaurant as well! And the wild and wonderful artwork at the harbor at Point San Pablo! Jeff came to Richmond in 1981 as the Chief of Cardiology at the Kaiser Richmond Medical Center. He also served as an elected city councilman from 2008-2012. A retired Professor at Touro University, he is now practicing medicine at a local clinic - when he isn't busy taking the grandchildren to their gymnastics glasses. He loves the idea of introducing others to the wonders of the Point Richmond shoreline and community. Viv has been a psychologist, educator, activist, avid world traveller, photographer, and small import business owner. Her love of the water brought her to Point Richmond years ago. She is the former chair of the City of Richmond’s Human Rights Commission and remains active in community health and violence prevention efforts. Like Jeff, she relishes the idea of showcasing some of Pt. Richmond’s amazing talent. Viv arranged for Asian art collector Guillermina Emy LaFever to furnish the retreat space with her fabulous furniture. It's a work of art! You can actually buy any of the furnishings you like. There are handmade gift items in the unit and you can visit Guillermina’s store in Point Richmond. Guest access Private access through a garden path between black bamboo and huge birds of paradise! And direct access from your own deck to the beach below! Other things to note ***Please be sure to contact us before submitting your booking request re our calendar and our COVID 19 safety protocols*** We also need to know if you plan to have small children in your group - or pets - and if you plan to host guests during your stay. We are prioritizing bookings of six days or more, but are able to sometimes fit shorter bookings into the larger puzzle of our calendar. We look forward to hearing from you and we should be able to get back to you immediately! We hope that you will fall in love with the property, and that your stay will be a delight!
