Aphrodite's Coast Retreat House!

A friendly and cozy coast house with all the facilities for up to 8 guests. Two amazing verandas that allow being outdoors all over the year. Ideal for winter or summer vacation. The house is in perfect harmony with the landscape and the sense of calmness sailes you in PARADISE. The space APHRODITE’S COAST HOUSE Aphrodite, was my grandmother, one of the four of Captain Thanasis’s children (three daughters and one son), who had sailed through the Black and the Mediterranean sea, with his “briki” called the “AMITY”, in the late of the 19th century, transporting goods from port to port. Aphrodite inherited the cleverness, the insightfulness and the fact that she really was an open-minded person from her father. So, when it was about time, she preferred to “exchange” her old traditional family house (placed in the center of GALAXIDI, on Mama’s Square) with the wide open horizon home, (a bit further though), on the Kalafatis’s coast. She chose this particular place, mainly because she distinguished 3 advantages in it: 1st nobody and nothing could ever blockade this amazing sea view, 2nd the sea is right at “your feet”, and 3rd you can feel the breeze from the mountains. She started by giving birth to her dream, and I’m glad my parents continued it. The Cretan love for the sea and nature, (because of our origin from my father’s side), met the simplicity and modesty of Central Greece (from my mother’s side), by creating an enchanting result. Even from far away, the moment you see that house, you think that it is part of the environment, and it gives you this sense of calmness and serenity which sails you in PARADISE right away. Its 2000 m2 wonderful Mediterranean garden, is so lovely, and it can be explored in all seasons. In summer, the geraniums, the grapes, and the aromatic herbs will give a scent to your summer laziness. In Autumn, the colours become vivid again, the olive trees lean their branches by the heaviness of their black olives, and as the tree leaves become red, right before their falling, and the summer swimmers leave the beach, you’ll taste the sweetest feeling of melancholy. In Winter, the scenery becomes a little wild, as you can watch the stormy sea, surrounded by the snowy GIONA and PARNASSOS mountains, and at the same time, sitting by the fire, enjoying a cup of tea or coffee makes you feel so warm and cozy. In Spring, the buds of the citrus trees will scent the air, everywhere. Get ready to be surrounded by the most beautiful colours!!! Its two verandas, either the one in front, having the most magnificent view of the sea or the second one, located at the back in the garden, (entrance by the kitchen), gives the guests the opportunity to enjoy every meal all day long, almost throughout every season of the year. The interior is spacious and functional. The three bedrooms allow privacy and seclusion, when needed, and at the same time, the open attic is ideal for a nap or as a playroom for the children, or for those who feel like children. The living room is placed at the heart of the house. In winter time, the burning fireplace, the view of the sea and listening to the songs of our favorite Van Morrison had always make the perfect combination. The decoration has been chosen very carefully. In every room, there is a piece of furniture inherited by grandma’s Aphrodite family house, such as the double bed in the senior bedroom, the two chairs in the middle bedroom or the small yellow table in the 3rd bedroom . Old and modern furniture, all painted in pale shades, combined with the view of the sea and the pure nature, will complete the sense of peacefulness and relaxation for somebody to live the perfect holidays. Guest access The house, as it is seen in the photos, is separated into two twin houses. The accommodation regards the right side. The left part belongs to my beloved aunt Lena (my mother's sister). The central entrance is common. Other things to note There are safe and ecological ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and even the livingroom. Registration Details 00000296288
