Enjoy nature at its best with swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, boating, hiking, biking, camping, etc. Under 2 hrs from NYC and near everything: 10 minutes to Route 97, 5 mins to Peck's market, Shrewd Fox Brewery, wine shop, pizzeria, Dollar store, Sand Beach, Forestburgh Playhouse, Kadampa meditation retreat, 20 min to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, etc. The space This lovely 1917 vintage home is where you can rest, relax, and restore energy and wholeness -a peaceful retreat for physical and spiritual connection with minimal life noises. We have a TV with Roku streaming device and Netflix streaming service and a work desk in the master bedroom and in the common area downstairs. The house has a good wifi internet service. The washer and dryer are next to the bathroom. All the a/c's have remote controls and you can adjust for a little heat on a chilly morning. The thermostat for temperature control for the entire house is in the living room. Please turn it on by setting it at 70-74F while you are there. The whole house gets warm quickly with heat rising up fast to the second floor. So keep the temp at 70-72F at night while you sleep upstairs. Please note that the thermostat control is not connected to the a/c units. It is only connected to the furnace that produces heat for the entire house. While we are happy to share this special house with visitors, we would appreciate all the guests to be respectful of the property. Please help turn off the a/c or the lights every time you leave the house and set the thermostat at 60F when you depart. Guest access No matter what time of day you arrive, you can enter this charming home through a digital keyless door. Access to the whole house. House has lake rights. The access point is to walk along the far right side of the vacant land across the street as you head towards the water. Be careful of rugged rocky shore. A better lake access is at a small family beach called Sand Beach less than a mile down the road where you can spend the entire day swimming and relaxing. The cost is $5 per person. There is also a small eatery on site for light fare for your convenience. Other things to note No late-night restaurant or 24-hr deli in the area. Pecks' country market is open until 7pm (Sun 5pm) and the Dollar store 10pm every day. Both are 5 minutes from the house so you can run in and grab something for dinner the last minute.
