Fern Hollow by the Sea

Our home in Falcon Cove is available for nightly and weekly rental. Explore the quiet beaches and forests of Falcon Cove and nearby Oswald State Park. This ocean view home has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths and reverse with the kitchen on the second floor. The house is private, has a view of the ocean from the second floor and the beach is a short walk from the house. The property also includes nearly three acres of forest and a seasonal stream behind the house for exploring and added privacy. The space The house has 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. There are two living rooms, one upstairs off the kitchen and one downstairs in the room with the woodstove. The downstairs living room has a futon for added space to sleep. The location is private (at the dead end of a road). There's a grass front yard and a private side yard with a fire pit. The second floor deck has a decent view of the ocean (gas grill is in the closet off the deck), a nice place to watch the sunset. Beach access is about 800' from the house (down 2nd Ave and then down Columbia Street). Access can be difficult for some guests. The closest access requires navigating a steep bank that has stones and driftwood stairs (about 10’). There is another more gradual access just to the south (one house down) that has a grassy path, but you still have to climb over some driftwood. There are two other access points to the north. One has newly built stairs and the other is nearly flat. This section of the Oregon Coast has round blue rocks above the high tide mark (see photos). These can be difficult to walk on. Sand is below these rocks. During winter months, beach access is limited because of higher tides. House amenities are described below, but please note that the house does not have a microwave. New flooring was installed in 2017. New beds in 2019. The garage/studio in the back yard is for the owner's use and storage. No one will be in the garage during your stay. Other things to note Falcon Cove is a quiet community without many vacation rentals. We have great neighbors who have chosen to live here because it is secluded and private. We endeavor to respect our neighbors by being thoughtful about noise and traffic. ****Please drive slowly through the community. Many neighbors have pets or small children, so we ask that guests be thoughtful about how fast they drive on the roads around the house (10 MPH please). Pets may be allowed under certain circumstances. We have a dog who enjoy the area as much as we do. If we do permit pets, we ask that you bring pet towels and try to clean muddy paws before entering the house (new flooring throughout). We also ask that all pets be leashed when walking through the community and that all pet waste is picked up from the property, the beach and from any neighbor's property. Firewood is provided, but we ask that guests use it responsibly. A lot of rentals require that guests bring their own wood. We try to maintain a good supply of dry wood, but if you plan to have camp fires every night, we ask that you also bring some of your own wood to ensure there is enough left in the stack for the next guests.
