Braemar House is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, small groups & families (the most fantastic play park for kids is just a few minutes away). We're located just across the road from the Whanganui River & 10min walk from the main shopping street Victoria Avenue. Prices are per room with additional charges for either a cooked or continental (cereal, yoghurt & fruit) breakfast. This listing is for a single bed in a private room with a small hand basin and a garden view. The space Rooms, decor and common areas reflect the grand past of this Victorian lady - Built in 1880, she still exudes the spacious, homely style of living that was so common in that era. Rooms are quiet and some lead off to an enclosed verandah area. Breakfasts are a reflection of that "home from home" hospitality - whether cereal & fruit & yogurt or cooked, we aim to ensure that you leave us satisfied and ready for your adventures. Guest access Guests have access to the front part of the house - with a shared lounge (TV, DVD player, piano, free high-speed unlimited wifi) and with coffee & tea making facilities available in the dining room. Bedrooms all contain a quaint hand basin. Bathrooms facilities are shared in the B&B wing. During your stay We will be more than delighted to assist you in any way to make your stay comfortable. We have lived in Wanganui for 20+ years so can also assist in local travel & sightseeing queries. Other things to note Bicycles are available to rent and we can also arrange for local sightseeing activities, eg. a hands-on flight over Wanganui in a light plane; flights over Mt Tongariro and Mt Ruapehu crater; fishing charters; Jet-boat up the Whanganui River and explore the history of this historic 'highway' into the interior; experience a cruise on an actual steam-driven paddle steamer - dredged up from the mud of the Whanganui River and painstakingly restored, etc.
