Camano Island Re-treat Landing
Our rural Re-treat Landing, in our 2019 carriage house, is an upstairs apartment with a beautiful view of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier beyond. Guests will enjoy staying on a gentle small farm bringing rest and restoration to one's soul. Camano Island offers much -- beautiful sunrises and sunsets, hiking, boating, fun dining experiences, antique shopping, an art scene, coffee drinking and our beautiful island beaches. Be assured — We follow CDC guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing. **CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING ADDED MID-AUGUST 2021** The Landing is spacious! The master bedroom is restful (and has black-out shades) with big windows looking out over farmland and Port Susan Bay. The second bedroom (also has big windows and black out shades) is a comfy den with a queen murphy bed and tv with roku and a dvd player (we don't have regular tv but you can stream your subscriptions). The bunkroom sleeps five more. We also have a portacrib, toys and high chair for your little ones. The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, kitchenware, some spices and condiments that just might entice you to whip up something delicious! The guest bath has a great big tub to soak in. The livingroom is a nice place to cozy up with a good book, next to the fireplace. The deck is covered so can be enjoyed even in the rain. You'll have fun strolling around our small farm and interacting (or not) with our sweet golden retriever, our nice -- but somewhat aloof cats -- and our chickens (always conversing with one another). Perhaps you'll find time to enjoy an afternoon nap in one of our hammocks in the aspen grove. Here on our farm, we enjoy growing organic veges and flowers, raising bees for honey, and chasing after our grandchildren when they're around. In late summer, when the apple crop comes in, we press cider and do a lot of canning. We have many fun Island events to enjoy from May - September (events and other local info can be found by accessing The Crab Cracker), including the reknown Camano Island Studio Tour (art tour) that takes place in May. A farmer's market operates on Tuesdays during the harvest months. There is too much to list here, but come on up and see what we have going on our little gem of an island! If you still need more space, we have a guest suite attached to our home that sleeps two. You can find it on airbnb, listed as Camano Island Suite Re-treat. To get to The Landing, guests must walk up one-flight of stairs. The Landing is very private and quiet. Guests are free to wander the property, although we would like our privacy respected. We are around the farm a lot -- working in the garden, enjoying the outdoors. We will mingle with you as much or as little as you like. Our interactions can happen organically! Camano Island is our own little paradise -- just an hour north of Seattle or an hour south of the Canadian border -- we are connected to the mainland by bridge so access is easy. While most of Camano is rural, the island community is full of heart and soul. Artists (all media), musicians, our own coffee roaster and french bakery, beautiful parks, and the people who live here make Camano a very special place. Community Transit does exist on the island, but you'll generally want your car or bicycle to get around. It's 45 miles to drive the perimeter of Camano. We have two state parks and a number of county parks that have beach and forested trails and also boat launches. If your reservation is for four or less persons, we remove the ladders from the bunkbeds so the top bunks are unused. We kindly say, "Save the grannies of the world and don't make CeCe climb up there to change the beds if not needed!" Thank you so much!
