re~barn - Modern Country Stay
Description
re~barn is a renovated barn from the 1910s/20s, which we have converted into your feel-good place in the countryside. We wanted to combine old & new as well as together & private in a natural creative way. The large lounge offers a kitchenette, table and sofa corner for cooking, eating, playing and laughing together. Four individual bedrooms with private bathrooms provide a private retreat. Ideal for relaxing days with friends or multiple generations! The space re~barn is located on our farm in the middle of the old town center of Essel, a beautiful village in the southern Heidekreis. The farm is still operated as a sideline, with cereals. Animals are no longer present (with the exception of a small farm cat, which is only in the outdoor areas or the hall of the main house). The building is a brick building with Prussian tiled ceilings, which is attached to the side of the main farmhouse. At the center of re~barn is the large common room, around which four private living and sleeping rooms in the open loft style with the names "Muh", "Oink", "Blök" or "Schrotkammer" are grouped. All have their own entrances and ensuite bathrooms. The decor is individual and designed with a lot of love for detail. Here and there we have redesigned or up-cycled old parts. They now remind you of earlier times when everything was still a cattle barn... Essel is part of the idyllic Aller-Leine Valley and is surrounded by fields, meadows and forests. The Aller flows directly past the outskirts of the village. An ideal starting point for walks, hikes and bike tours in nature or excursions in the surrounding area. There are also two swimming lakes nearby and various amusement parks in the area (including Serengeti Park, Vogelpark) or various places & cities for strolling (e.g. Alden, Celle, Hanover). Day trips, for example, to the Lüneburger Heide, to Heide-Park Soltau, to Lüneburg, Bremen or Hamburg are also popular. Or simply relax in the greenery on the farm, browse and enjoy the great starry sky in the evening... Looking forward to seeing you soon! Guest access You can move freely on our farm in the outdoor area and on the hall of the main house and explore everything. There is plenty of greenery, nature and space to sit, play and chill. Please be careful with the agricultural equipment and machines, they are still actively used. Other things to note Rental of the entire accommodation; non-smoking rooms, smoking outside possible on the farm; pets & dogs not allowed; parties/events not allowed. Wi-Fi available, TV has been deliberately waived. Our furnishings, amenities and outdoor facilities are designed for adults. Therefore, for example, there are no high chairs, baby/toddler beds or children's toys on site. There is no fixed playground outside in the yard, but there is plenty of space, greenery and nature to explore, play and romp around in. We have two small pop-up soccer goals with soft balls, a pop-up beach tent, picnic blankets and simple outdoor games for the yard. If you need any other special items or toys for the kids, we kindly ask that you bring them with you. A small playground with a slide, swing, seesaw, sandpit and climbing area is located about 700 meters away from us on foot (playground on Eichenweg, Essel). Maximum occupancy (including infants under 2 years) is 10 people. The electricity comes from renewable energies. There is a washing machine on the hallway of the main house, which can be shared. If necessary, you can also store your bicycles or electric bicycles there. There are also three in-house bicycles available on the hallway, which you can rent during your stay for a day tour or a trip to the bakery or swimming lake. Bakeries (also open on Sundays), restaurants, an organic shop, various supermarkets and the drugstore Rossmann are available directly in our neighboring town of Schwarmstedt. There is also the nearest train station (about 2-3 km).
