If you are going to stay in the Hamptons, why not stay on the water? It's much cooler here. This property is 5-10 degrees cooler than inland East Hampton. This private 2 bedroom/2 bath cottage enjoys spectacular sunsets and a cool breeze off the water. Launch the four, 2 person tandem and two single sit-on-top ocean kayaks directly from the end of the property and enjoy the nature & beauty of East Hampton's Three Mile Harbor Bay. (while kayaking see an osprey nest, many egrets, swans pairs, and the vast biodiversity of the bay shoreline) This is an expansive property with wide open views of the water, natural landscape, and gardens. The property overlooks a 100+ acre nature preserve, it's very beautiful and peaceful. The property is spectacular and not your typical enclosed Long Island suburban backyard. The 2 bedroom newly renovated cottage is very comfortable (you have the entire building), each bedroom has its bedroom, the large master bedroom has a queen size bed, the other bedroom is located on the opposite side of the cottage ( this renovation change was just completed) has 2 twins (that can be combined to make a King size bed). There are all new fixtures and appliances in the cottage, including a commercial grade (2 ton) central air conditioning system. The temp stays very comfortable. The Rex cottage has a 500-speed modem coupled with ultra-fast WiFi 6, fiber optic cabling, and redundant internet connections for streaming, posting pictures, or remote working. PETS are allowed in the REX cottage. Enjoy a private tennis court, tune up your game with a bucket of new balls and ball machine, and practice for as long as you want, private instruction is available (please inquire about instruction a week before arrival) There is also a short-game golf practice facility on the property. Work on your short game with our pitching/putting green from multiple approach angles and a crushed white marble sand trap. 6 adult bikes are available for you to enjoy ( sorry we don't have children's ones, but we are working on it) The four 2-person and two single sit-on-top ocean kayaks, which can be launched directly from the property, there is no additional cost to use them. They have stored 15ft from the water. Walk to Maidstone Park beach or visit the spectacular Town of East Hampton Ocean Beaches 10 minutes away, ( Atlantic Ave Beach is recommended) East Hampton Town Ocean and Bay Beach Parking pass is included. Keep in mind this is a parking pass, the beaches are open. You can walk, bike, or kayak to the bay beach, it's extremely close. The Ocean Beach is open at Hither Hills State Park for a $10 parking charge. East Hampton ocean beach is spectacular and world-class in its beauty and pristine condition. At the Rex, we have a new outdoor dining patio with a BBQ charcoal grill bring your charcoal. The Rex cottage is well equipped for cooking, it has many utensils, serving plates, a full array of pots and pans, a blender, juicer, coffee maker, microwave, full stove, dishwasher, and washer & dryer, but there are so many excellent food choices for taking out or dine in. The Rex has freshly washed sheets and towels. We have had beach towels, but please bring your beach towels just in case. The entire stand-alone 2 bedroom Rex cottage is available to rent to just one group, it's rented in its entirety and not on a per- bedroom basis. The cottage sleeps only 4 people, for additional guest requests please contact the host. Rates vary during the week and on weekends. For Holiday weekends there is a 4-7 night minimum Dogs are allowed in the Rex, they are not allowed in the Beach cottage or The Ritz cottage. It is exempt from the East Hampton Rent Register Guest access No charge for use of the 6 bikes, 6 kayaks, tennis court with racquets, balls & ball machine, golf practice green & clubs, and Ocean/bay beach pass. The bay beach (much warmer than the Ocean and very safe) is visable from the property, it's a short walk (5 minutes) around the Cove. You can also kayak there (5 minutes), bike ( 3 minutes), or drive (2 minutes). Kayak to Dayton Island, a perfect place to bring a bottle of rose and relax. The Ocean Beach, is a 10 minute drive away, an ocean beach pass is included for all Ocean Beaches from Atlantic Ave Beach in Amagansett to Montauk.
