Private North Berkeley In-law unit

This completely private portion of our North Berkeley home is usually available only Fri, Sat, and Sun nights, except where otherwise indicated on the calendar. If you plan to leave on Monday, check out will need to be early (9:00am). We usually cannot be flexible on that as we use it for other purposes Mon-Fri most weeks. City of Berkeley Short Term Rental Registration#: 2017 ZCSTR 0050. The space This unit is registered in compliance with City of Berkeley Short Term Rental Regulations. Registration#: 2017 ZCSTR 0050 *** In response to a Nov 2020 review we deep cleaned the unit twice to make sure it is completely dust free. That review was from our first guest in 2 years (since before Covid) and we thought we had cleaned thoroughly but our guests pointed out that there was dust in areas we had missed. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our unit and are quite confident that no one else will have that experience*** Check in is 4:00 pm on Fridays. If you arrive earlier and have luggage you wish to drop off we can try to accommodate that but the room itself won't be available until 4:00 due to our arrangement with our cleaning service. You will be able to let yourself in no matter what time of day or night you arrive, as there is a lockbox outside the door to the unit with a key to the room in it. The room has its own private entrance and is separated from the rest of our house by a soundproofed double wall. AMENITIES: There is a Queen size bed with hypo-allergenic down-alternative comforter and pillows. You will have your own private bathroom with shower. Other amenities include high speed wireless internet, mini fridge with a small freezer compartment, electric kettle, coffee maker, assortment of tea & coffee, organic milk, electric heater to supplement central heating, iron and ironing board, digital alarm clock, hair dryer. We use only all natural (usually 7th Generation) cleaning products. PLEASE NOTE: - there is no microwave, toaster oven, or any other way to cook or heat up food (see the next bullet point for exception). Guests are welcome to store and eat food into the room but there are no cooking facilities. - For longer term stays (a week or more) we can put a microwave in the room upon request. - in order to maintain cleanliness, we request that shoes be removed in the room. Slippers are provided, or you are welcome to bring your own. - there is no land-line telephone. - *** There is no TV *** (this is only highlighted because a few people somehow didn't read this and were disappointed not to find one in the unit). - There is extremely high speed wireless internet connection. - we do not provide breakfast. - For the protection of those with animal allergies, no pets of any kind are ever allowed. ABOUT US: We are a young professional family of three who will likely be home during your stay but you may not even see us since you have your own entrance and own private space. We are optimally seeking respectful, quiet guests who will appreciate the tranquil space we have created in our rental room. If you're looking forward to late night partying or being loud in the unit, or if you are hoping to have a high level of interaction with your airbnb hosts, you'll probably find a better match with someone else.
