Countryside setting with amazing mountain views! Rejuvenate on a peaceful and beautifully landscaped hillside property with a magnificent panoramic view of the Kiamichi Mountains. Relax in an aromatic hot tub under the stars. 1 king bed, 1 full bed, 1 bathroom The space This is a 680 sq.ft. private mother-in-law apartment on the east side of our home. A two-car garage sits between the airbnb and our home. The airbnb apartment is it's own private unit with its own front door. The property sits on 10 acres in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains located off Hwy 63 between Talihina and Whitesboro. The view is absolutely amazing, overlooking a 180 degree view of the Kiamichi Mountains. We are close to the Talimena Scenic Drive in the Ouachita National Forest with many hiking trails and overlooks. It is very peaceful and relaxing here. We have two Miniature Schnauzers and two cats. Our neighbor's cows have access to our pasture. We have lots of birds here, including roadrunners and an extreme amount of Hummingbirds from early May to late August! On a very rare occasion you may even see a white peacock! -- 12 miles away from the west entrance to the famous 54-mile long Talimena Scenic Byway with numerous scenic overlooks. The Ouachita Hiking Trail parallels the scenic drive. -- 45 miles to Robber's Cave State Park where Jesse James and his outlaw gang hid out (you can hike up to his actual cave) -- 45 miles to Heavener Runestone Park where there is a 10x12' sandstone slab carved with symbols that are controversially attributed to the Vikings (it's a gorgeous hike to the runestone through rock boulders, lots of trees and waterfalls in seasonal times of the year) -- 65 miles to the tourist town of Hochatown, where Beaver's Bend State Park is located and tourism is hustling and bustling -- a suburb of Broken Bow, Oklahoma Guest access The suite is your private space on the east side of our home with our garage separating your space from ours. The deck is common space and we enjoy sitting out there with our guests if they would like to visit. If you want complete privacy while you're here, we respect and honor that and it's yours. The hot tub is located next to the deck and we give guests complete privacy when they want to use the hot tub. Other things to note - Maximum occupancy is 4 guests - No smoking - No marijuana smoking or parties - No fires/firepit/fireworks - No pets - We ask that you clean your own dishes, put your towels and robes in the hamper. We will strip the bed and take out the trash. - NEW GUESTS check-in 2-9pm. We live here and want to meet our guests in person and give them an orientation of the suite, property & hot tub, so we ask that you please arrive before 9pm if possible . - RETURNING GUESTS check-in anytime. - Check-out is 11:00am - We keep the gate closed onto our property and let our dogs out to play when guests are off-site. We ask that guests text us when they're getting close to coming back so we can put the dogs up. - We have the DirecTV entertainment package with lots of channels but do not have any of the movie channels like HBO, etc. We do not have a DVD player, but there is a DVR in the suite and guests can record their favorite programs. - Our wifi is accessed through a Verizon mifi jetpack. After the mifi reaches a certain number of gigabytes each month, the speed will go down and during movies you will get lots of buffering. You'll get a good direct signal on your phone (without even using the mifi) with Verizon and AT&T. Sprint and Cricket is not good here. - We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. You will smell livestock and hear cows (especially if our neighbor's calves are being weaned). Our neighbor's cows have access to our pasture. NEW GUESTS check-in 2-9pm. We live here & want to meet our guests in person so we ask that you please arrive by 9pm if possible. RETURNING GUESTS check-in anytime.
