Come enjoy this rustic lakefront cabin located less than an hour from either Acadia National Park on MDI or Schoodic Peninsula. This is the perfect house for a relaxing and fun Maine getaway. The cabin has a full kitchen and bathroom with a screened porch for enjoying the view without the bugs! Just step out the front door and you are looking over beautiful Webb Pond. Great swimming , kayaking and fishing are all waiting for you here. Spend the day in the park and the night on the pond. Our Rustic Maine Cabin made of roughcut lumber has plenty of space and is in a beautiful location. The cabin has a bedroom, bathroom, living/dining space, kitchen and windowed in front porch. The kitchen has a stove/oven, microwave and full size refrigerator for cooking your own meals. The living room has a futon couch and the porch has a sofa bed for extra sleeping space. The Loft has running water which is drinkable but has a significant salt taste. We provide a water cooler with 5 gallon bottles of water for drinking and cooking. We believe that dogs are part of the family and should come on vacation too (as long as they are well behaved and are cleaned up after). The entire cabin is yours! We have a shared dock out into the lake, a fire pit in front of the cabin, a grill for outdoor cooking plus kayaks (and canoe) and fishing gear that you can use during your stay. The cabin has parking for 2 vehicles. The loft next door also has parking for 2 vehicles and the parking area is connected. We don't live in the neighborhood of our lakeside cabin so we won't be bothering you during your stay but are close enough to help if needed. Alder Brook Road is a non-paved road with a handful of houses (some year-round, some seasonal). Our property is on the water and is wooded on either side with a good distance (100 feet) between our place and our nearest neighbor. Webb Pond is a 915 acre body of water with white perch, pickerel and smallmouth bass living within. There is a Loft on the same lot that is available separate from the Cabin as Lakeside Loft on Webb Pond or included with the Loft for larger parties, listed as Knotty But Nice. Our cabin is about a 25 minute drive to the center of Ellsworth, Maine. Ellsworth is a small city that has large chain grocery stores, excellent restaurants and brew pubs. In addition, there is walmart, an LLBean outlet and small shops in the downtown area. Our cabin is located a short 45 minute drive from the Acadia National Park visitor center in Bar Harbor (without traffic). It is also ~40 minutes from the Schoodic Peninsula, an often overlooked (and beautiful) part of the National Park. Along the way to Schoodic there are several great restaurants and points of interest. We allow well behaved pets. We now have WiFi access but only provide the access code upon request. Many of our guests like to be unplugged during their stay. Cell phone access is limited unless hooked up to the WiFi. We can get 1-2 bars on the lake side of the cabin which is usually good for calls and limited web browsing. Verizon, AT&T... bad. US Cellular... good. There are Loons, Owls, Osprey but also Mosquitos! It is the Maine woods afterall! Population varies based on weather and time of year. We provide some deterrents if needed, but you may want to bring your own bug spray.
