Magnificent outdoor views are enjoyed inside through walls of glass and french doors in every room. Simple, clean, biophilic design, modern farmhouse decor, art filled with creative touches, central air, and heat in case open windows and a fireplace aren't enough. A fully stocked kitchen including all appliances, spices and oils, BBQ tools and coal, linens galore, movies, books, games, picnic basket, beach towels, sundries, extra toiletries and more. Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting before and after each guest is standard procedure. The 2 bedrooms, each with your own private bathroom, have queen beds. Fifteen minutes away, you'll find a boat launch, fishing pier, gas pump, and the nearest town for shopping. The focus is on you, family, and friends, and yes, one well-behaved pet is allowed with a pet fee of 59.00 for the stay. Waste baggies and food bowls provided. The garage and caretaker's cottage are locked off for private use. Although I continue to add amenities or refresh the art filled decor, I purposely keep Summerset slow, calm, and restful. A place to unplug from technology, reflect, and recharge the soul. Picnic on the hill, lunch in the courtyard, nap in the middle of the day, sip wine on the deck at sunset. No matter which direction you decide to travel, the road to Summerset is paved, winding, and scenic with a short dirt road to the main gate. Unless otherwise requested, self check-in is the normal mode these days. The gate will be open for you or a lockbox code will be sent before your arrival. The reason you'd want to stay at Summerset is to escape to much needed quiet and privacy. There is a separate cottage retreat for privacy of my own. The closest neighbors are at least half a mile down the road. They are both lovely, but you will never see them as the home is situated to maximize privacy. The caretakers cottage and garage are locked for private use by me and a 4-legged, very sweet old lady. There are many country roads to hike, and the scenic asphalt roads provide endless possibilities for riders. Within minutes, boaters have many public launch sites from which to choose. My goal was to find a haven that would provide privacy and extreme beauty. It took most of the summer coming up from San Francisco, but when I finally walked onto this property, there was no question it was everything for which I had been searching. Solitude is not for everyone, but I find in this uncertain world, the forced connection to nature and the calm of quiet, is the antidote to an overly stimulated life and nervous system. It was built by an early practioner of solar energy who specifically chose this spot because of its unspoiled connection to the water, infinite sky, and volcanic mountain.
