Tiny house "EggLady"
Glamping Green Istria Tiny Houses
Description
Surrounded by vineyards and greenery, with stunning views, the cottages are arranged in a campsite-style setting. These small houses are dedicated to the Istrian women known as Savrinke and are furnished with original furniture from the last century. Each cottage reflects Istria, its history, and its cultural heritage. They are located in the village of Truške, 13 km from Koper. The houses, built in traditional Istrian architectural style, are dedicated to the Šavrnikas – our grandmothers and great-grandmothers who used donkeys to transport local delicacies to Koper and Trieste, selling their products door to door. Their names are inspired by the products they sold: the Milk Lady mainly sold milk and dairy products such as cheese and ricotta, the Egg Lady sold eggs, and the Bread Lady sold bread. Each house tells the story of the Šavrnikas and includes a short historical presentation of Slovenian Istria. A special feature of the houses is that they do not have running water or electricity inside. Upon arrival, guests receive battery-powered lamps. The shared bathrooms are located 30 metres from the houses, and barbecue facilities are also available for guests. Access to electricity and Wi-Fi is available in the common areas. In 2011, Green Istria – Houses of Slovenian Istria received the "Snovalec" award for the most innovative tourism idea under the auspices of the Slovenian Tourist Board. In 2017, the houses received the Travelife certificate for sustainable accommodation. They are also part of the Slovenian Green Scheme for tourism.
