The Flat
A unique and historic studio apartment located just above the famous Flatiron Café. Features queen bed, kitchenette, and an outdoor patio in the heart of beautiful Jerome. The Flat is located above the popular Flatiron Café in the historic Flatiron Building in the heart of Jerome, Arizona. There are a few stairs to climb to get to the top of the apartment; the space itself is small, historic, and very unique. The space features tons of natural light with a queen bed, kitchenette, bathroom, TV and internet with views of the Verde Valley and the Mogollon Rim. The Flat extends to the beautiful outdoor patio across the street where you'll have access to comfortable seating, internet, wildlife sightings of hummingbirds and cute neighborhood cats, and the best people-watching in town! The apartment has one entrance, directly located next to The Flatiron Café. You will be given access to your key, located within a manual lock box. We can be directly available for you during Flatiron Café business hours. All correspondence should be through the AirBnB app, but after hours emergencies can be directed to my cell phone should you need anything. Messages after 10 PM and before 9 AM may go unanswered until regular business hours. We are located in The Flatiron district of Jerome, which is the very beginning of Jerome's business district. The apartment is within walking distance of amazing galleries, artisan shops, restaurants, bars, wine tasting rooms, and historical sites. The apartment is also located in a quieter section of the town; this is unique compared to other rooms in Jerome which are mainly located above bars or historical attractions. Walk Walk Walk! Jerome is tiny and full of nooks and crannies. Park the car, grab a coffee, turn the cell phone off, and forget about time. Jerome is one-of-a-kind, and with that, be prepared for some quirks during your stay: • Some businesses open a bit later then usual, some close a bit earlier than usual. • You should get dinner before 8:00pm (or else all you may have available are potato chips at the local bar). • The temperature variations can be cast, make sure you pack layers to stay cool during the day and warm at night! • Cell phone reception and internet can be spotty. Some fun history: • “Flatiron” refers to the triangular shaped building reminiscent of the old heavy cast iron “flat irons” our grandmothers used to iron clothing. • The building has had many incarnations in the past century- first in 1918 as The Arizona Lunchroom with a dentist office above, then a nurse’s station, a market, a bakery, a needlework shop and finally returned to life as a café in the early 1980's as a satellite shop of Macy’s European Coffee House, still located in Flagstaff, AZ.
