Taproot Cottage at Stone Mountain

Taproot Cottage is cozy, quiet, comfortable and nestled in the beautiful White Mountain foothills of Brownfield, ME. Just one mile from the Stone Mountain Arts Center, 30 minutes to North Conway, NH, and easy access to hiking trails, mountain vistas, and the Lakes Region of western Maine. It offers a well-equipped kitchen/dining/ living room combination, full bath, a relaxing sunroom with full-sized futon for additional sleeping, and a loft bedroom with a queen bed. The space You will find Taproot Cottage off a dirt road, up a short hill. It shares a 17-acre property with your hosts, who live further up the hill, just barely visible through the trees, and borders on hundreds of acres of undeveloped woods. You can enjoy approximately 1 mile of walking trails on the property. Across the road, we have a neighbor in each direction, about 1/4 mile away. Guest access Taproot Cottage is completely private; the owners' house is 100 feet further up the driveway, barely visible from the cottage. Approximately a mile of wooded walking/snow-shoeing trails are on the property and available for your use. Other things to note Our guests value the solitude and quiet of our cottage and appreciate the opportunity to "un-plug." Please note that there is no Wifi or television at the cottage. Your hosts, Caren and Jamie, live about 100' further up the driveway, just barely visible through the trees, and are readily available if needed.
