Unique Converted Recording Studio BnB Experience

Welcome to the most unique BnB experience in Ann Arbor - a former professional recording studio converted to a cozy, quiet escape tucked in the woods on the outskirts of town. Built as a building within a building to keep all outside noise from making it on tape, the live room provides one of the quietest sleeping experiences on the planet a.k.a. The "Solid Sound" of silence. The space Your bedroom will be the "live" room in the audio recording studio, Solid Sound Inc, that was my career for over 40 years. You'll sleep with the grand piano (loved by many folks around the world) and some of my instruments that still live there. Imagine sleeping in a space where many greats have worked over the years: Bob Seger, Beck, Barenaked Ladies, Keb Mo, Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, Norah Jones, Art Garfunkel, Emmylou Harris, and Bonnie Raitt to name a few. While close to town (just a couple miles from the University of Michigan North Campus) the setting is rural and quiet (inside the studio is VERY quiet). The stand alone building is tucked into the edge of a beautiful woods and feels private and comfy. Note in the photos that there is a large desk with Aeron chair to spread out any business work you may have. Guest access You'll have access to the control room, drum room, newly re-designed bath room and reception area / lounge that will serve as your "kitchen" i.e. microwave, fridge, coffee area and small sink. Other things to note Although the studio operation (Solid Sound, Inc.) has ceased, the "vibe" is still resident and to many folks palpable. We recorded mostly local and regional albums, 100's of them, and also some major label projects and radio shows with many names that you would recognize. (Willie Nelson loves "Rob's trees" as much as his sister, Bobby Lee, loves the piano.) My studio partner and I were both professional musicians and didn't attempt to capitalize on the famous folks, but there are some great stories from many years of making music.
