There are some lovely native bush areas on the escarpment inhabited by wallabies, rabbits, hares and a large variety of bird life, including a family of wedge-tailed eagles in the large tree due north of the cottages. Marine life, such as whales, dolphins and schools of salmon, can sometimes be spotted from the cottages. Guests are welcome to feed the sheep grazing in the paddocks in front of the cottages or visit the friendly chooks in the orchard.
