"Friends" is a private bedroom for up to 4 people, located in the historic Red Victorian, near Haight-Ashbury. The Red Victorian is an experimental community run hotel that offers unique guest experiences. While here, we invite you to attend events: lectures & talks, skill shares, music nights, art shows and more! Near Golden Gate Park and Twin Peaks, this central location also offers easy direct lines to both downtown and the beach. The space The "Friends" Room is a private room with three beds total: two bunk beds, and one main bed. This listing is for the main bed! The room is located on the 2nd floor of the house, overlooking Haight Street. The furniture includes an armoire, couch, and a sink. We have abundant bathroom access- you will have access to the 5 shared bathrooms of the house (1 in the 2nd floor + a restroom and 4 on the 3rd floor). Some fun historical facts about the Red Victorian: - We often hold events in the bottom floor of the house that guests can attend, like board game nights and lectures. - We have had many resident artists and have even been tagged by the famous Banksy. - Some of our residents have lived in SF for decades- they can give amazing history and recommendations. Guest access - Self check-in from 4pm onwards. Self check-out at 11am. If you arrive early, you can leave your bags in our guest storage area on the ground floor until check-in time. - You will have access to your bedroom and all the shared spaces (main space, kitchen, lounge with sauna, shared bathrooms, and an office space). - Like its people, the space changes frequently and offers surprises and secrets at every turn. We welcome you to explore and discover its various experiences (but please leave shared spaces better than you found them!). This is an experimental hostel for the fiercely independent traveler you are. All the charm of a 100-year old hotel on historic Haight street comes along with all the creaky floors, old plumbing, old windows, cold drafts, and other quirks/idiosyncrasies/surprises our community-led team works around the clock to barely keep on top of.
