The Family Room at Traveler’s Rest Hotel

The Family Room is a private room for up to four people, with private, detached, assigned bathroom at the Traveler's Rest independent hotel. It is furnished with a queen bed, a bunk bed, and a mini-fridge. The building is centrally heated and cooled. All guests have access to complimentary WiFi. Towels and linens are included. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in an eco-friendly self-service setup. No outside towels or linens are permitted. The space Dating back to 1883, our historic building was originally home to the headquarters for A.M. Byers Wrought Iron Pipe Co. From its mills in the South Side and the surrounding region, Byers Pipe became a world-renowned wrought iron manufacturer, and built their offices to suit. We have updated and renovated our building to keep the special charm and character it has to offer. Located along the Great Allegheny Passage trail, the Traveler's Rest is in a perfect location to tour Pittsburgh. The Traveler's Rest provides all guests with access to our communal kitchen and lounge. Cycling guests can take advantage of our garage, which provides secure bike parking, and stations equipped to tune/fix and wash their bikes. Guest access We do not have parking on our property, but the surrounding streets are non-permitted and non-metered. The on-street spots tend to fill in during the work day, but come 4pm, you have your choice of spots — often right in front of our front door. If you prefer secure parking, Station Square has parking (a quick search and you can find their rates). Depending on which lot or garage you choose, it’s 1.5–2 miles away, and would involve walking the river trail, public transit bus, or a rideshare, back to our hotel.
