This traditional rambling farm house built in 1893 is located on a 130 acre working cattle farm in lovely rural Virginia. Enjoy your morning coffee with views of the pastures, pond and woods from 3 porches. The farm is conveniently located to Scottsville, Charlottesville, UVA, Monticello, Ashlawn Highland, the James River, Richmond, Mt. Ida and award winning winery's and breweries. 8 people max staying in house The space The house has large rooms, with 1 bedroom and bath room down stairs and three bedrooms and 1 bathroom up stairs. Lovely views of the pastures, pond and woods are enjoyed from the 3 porches. The farm hosts a herd of British White and Murray Grey cattle and sheep. Hiking trails through the woods are a treat through every season. Summer brings ripe cherries and pears from the trees in the yard. The house is on well water and has a septic system so the number of guests staying in the house is limited to 8. I live on the farm in a separate house and am available for any problems or questions. Guest access The house and property are available for use with the exception of my yard which is in the middle if the farm with a closed gate. Guests cannot visit livestock without me, no dogs are permitted around the livestock. Other things to note There is limited cell phone service. There is Wi-Fi so you can use your devices and there is a Roku TV. But this is a place to get away from the rush of modern life, it's quite and peaceful; although sounds of the farm may be new to you. Dogs must be kept on a leash when walking the property. There is a limit of 3 dogs and I must be notified if dogs are coming for the visit. The barn is off limits since it is stacked with large bales of hay. There is also a Livestock Guardian Puppy that lives with the sheep, please leave him alone as he is in training.
