Historic boutique hotel located not- too- far- off the beaten path between Nashville and Memphis. Accessed by scenic roads along farms and two rivers that welcome boaters, canoe-ers, floaters & kayakers. Perfect for a quick overnight en route - or a budget getaway. Commodore Perry himself would have found comfort in the Queen bed, high ceilings, hardwood floors, & original 1939 details. Restaurant & bar open weekend nights (except Jan- Feb). Open M, T, W for lunch. This cozy room has just enough space for you and one other person - perfect if you just need a place to crash. Of course, you may still enjoy all the hotel amenities, and it still has the high ceilings and hardwood floors and large windows original to this 1939 hotel. Bathroom was added in 2007, so it's a small shower stall & toilet, with the sink in the room (where it was originally, in fact!). Dogs $10/ night extra. ANTISEPTIC PROVIDED - starting May 2020, complimentary antiseptic wipes (made per CDC instructions, with alcohol) and tissue packs are offered to every guest. PRIVATE OUTDOOR SPACES - Besides the covered foyer and sidewalk tables & chairs, guests have access to one -and -a- half acres of PRIVATE Riverfront property 2 mins. from hotel (or 10 minute walk). Wade, swim, fish, or just hang out - in sun or shade - on this grassy, riverside oasis. Antique Iron Bridge on adjacent property makes GREAT photo backdrop! Chairs, BBQ grill and hammock available - just ask! KAYAK TRIPS - Enjoy a daytime adventure on the river! Still a pristine waterway, owners & guests enjoy single-person, sit-ON kayaks and a 3-7 hour meandering course that ends at our riverfront property. Rental fee - $35-45 per person. FRIENDLY - Our 1939 hotel is in one of the friendliest small towns! Guests always tell us how friendly the locals & our staff are. These are the things guests always mention about our place. We want you to be happy & comfortable - so we will try to accommodate in any way possible. Just ask! Lobby, Lounge, Cafe, Outdoor seating. Two blink Electric Vehicle chargers in lot. WORKING WHILE ON THE ROAD? We can put a small table in your room if you need space for office work, OR you may sit in our Speakeasy Lounge. Since the Speakeasy isn't open during the day, it's a perfect, fairly quiet space for office work. Usually, only 1 or 2 of us is/are working in there, so there is plenty of space for social distancing. We have a small staff & someone is on duty 24/7/365. We (Kathy & Michael) are available Monday thru Saturday. Almost every Friday night & most Saturday nights, we enjoy meeting & mingling with guests and friends at our restaurant & bar. (Except Jan- Feb, our time off.) Small downtown square location in typical U.S. 1930s-40s town (most older buildings destroyed by 1929 fire w/ no fatalities, btw). Small grocery, liquor & drug stores 1 block away. Buffalo River - 1/3 mile. Tennessee River (on its South-to-North section) 10 miles. Mennonite village 10 miles. Loretta Lynn's Ranch 29 miles. Wineries ~30 miles All vehicles welcome! Lots of safe street parking, room for trailers & RVs within sight of property. Limited covered parking - 2 spaces. Bikes of all kinds welcome. No public transportation like cabs, buses or über. Courtesy Car available for private planes & helicopters using Linden airport 10 min. from property. Must be able to walk up stairs. First floor rooms available at different pricing- please message us. 2 rooms fit this description, and they look a little different. We are happy to provide pics of your exact room by request. Breakfast: Weekends- $5 small hot buffet (based on # of guests- please inquire) 8-10am Weekdays- Free Continental (cereal, fruit, hard- boiled eggs, juice, homemade bread) 7-9am. Lunch: Open mid- January thru mid- December, 11am-2pm. Days change seasonally, so please inquire about your dates. Dinner: Open mid- February thru mid- December on Friday & Saturday nights only. Other nights: inquire in advance for availability. There are a handful of year- round restaurants within 1.25 mile of property.
