This private, second floor, one-bedroom apartment is located in a 19th-century building and is centrally located in historic downtown Springfield, IL. The apartment is accessed by a combination key box and a modern elevator. The 700 sq ft apartment is self-contained with a full kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom plus a private balcony. The apartment features huge windows that overlook 6th ST (old Rt 66) below. A close walk to all the Lincoln sites. The space Free WIFI, Snacks, Coffee and a full laundry facility are available. No smoking or vaping in the apartment. This property is in a busy downtown urban setting and does not have a dedicated parking spot. There are parking meters on the street below and 2 municipal parking garages with 1/2 blocks. This apartment has a two registered guest limit. No children allowed due to the open staircase and the 2nd-floor patio on the fire escape. NO unregistered guests allowed. Thank you. Guest access The entire apartment is a private guest space along with a patio off of the bedroom. Other things to note Great restaurants, shops, and tourist sites in the same block. There is street parking right now that is free after 5 PM M-F and all weekend, but parking can be competitive at times. There is paid parking under the Old State Capitol 1/2 block north or in the public parking garage 1/2 block to the east. Constructed in the 1880s, this S. 6th Street address is a part commercial, part residential building with a vernacular brick front. Current business occupants include The Roost, an artist co-op, and La Piazza Cucina Italiana, a family-owned restaurant serving brick oven-fired Neapolitan pizza & Italian fare. This 6th Street structure is a contributing building within the original boundaries of the Central Springfield Historic District. The District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
