Stunning water's edge home: light, tides, quiet

Beautiful architects' mid-coast Maine tidal waterfront year-round retreat, fresh to market. New 3 bedroom 2 bath house with high beamed ceilings, chef's kitchen, kayaks at water's edge. Built with local hemlock and birch, the house faces south on a tidal cove off the St. George River estuary, in the heart of Mid-Coast Maine, and has over 350 feet of shoreline. Peaceful and secluded, but close to the lobstering villages of Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde, and an easy drive to Rockland and Camden. The space Water on three sides, lots of light and lovely views. Local birch flooring, large fully equipped chef's kitchen, high beamed ceilings: living room and dining room face water; dramatic master bedroom with 18 foot vaulted ceiling, desk for writing, tv with roku, facing water 70 feet away, and with private deck; second and third bedrooms with sliding doors giving access to screened porch facing water, two bathrooms. Grill, picnic table, hammock, Adirondack chairs outside. Woodstove and super-insulation make for ideal off-season use. Beautiful south-facing winter light; mature oaks provide shade to the water in summer; extensive open space and lawns. Guest access Guests have full use of property, and up to five kayaks (with signed waiver). The tide is up to 11 feet, and at low tide swimming and use of kayaks is limited, as Watts Cove becomes a clam flat. The relative shallowness of the water means that its temperature is considerably higher in the summer - a significant fact in Maine! The tide is mesmerizing and a pleasure to watch. Both televisions have roku with Netflix. Living room TV has cable. AT&T cell coverage is very limited, but AT&T offers a free service that automatically switches phone to WiFi. We provide a landline with unlimited US calling. Other things to note While we provide the basics, guests should plan to bring their own food. Some people stop on their way in the huge Whole Foods in Portland, just off the highway, or at a Hannafords Supermarket in Waldoboro on Route 1. Others shop after they arrive at Walmart, about 8 miles away. A great place to find all those things you planned to bring on your vacation but forgot is Renys Department Store on the Main Street in Damariscotta - an amazing experience and a sort of time warp.
