In this unique valley that combines natural beauty with modern farming techniques lies a luxuriously appointed house, accommodating 8 people (3 double bedrooms inside, bedroom with bunkbeds has seperate outside entrance). The feeling of living off the grid is unique, with river and borehole water and solar power Full DSTV but no Wifi, 3G signal not very strong On its doorstep you will find a wide variety of outdoor activities, including hiking/biking High clearance vehicle recommended The space The house is located in the stunning Vinkrivier valley, which combines stunning mountain views with modern farming. It is a place to be completely in touch with nature The house is completely off the grid, which makes it very special. Some rules have to be adhered to since electricity is solar powered. Stove and geysers are gas . The water comes straight from the mountain stream, which is a fantastic nature experience. The water is perfect to drink but has a slightly brown color, so drinking water will be supplied in 5 liter bottles Guest access The farm is about 10 km before Robertson. The road is gravel and in good condition. The driveway to the house is a bit steep but doable with a normal car, high clearance recommended though. Cycling tracks that meander endlessly through the Langeberg mountains start at the entrance of the house Other things to note Electricity : more than enough for lights, DSTV and the running of the house. Unfortunately high energy demand items cannot be used (hairdryers, oven, electric heaters, aircons). There is a Italian designed stove, which warms the house literally within 15 mins (for the cool winter nights). Ceiling fans for summer A generator can be used in case of emergency Water : In winter the water comes straight from the mountain stream and it is a fantastic feeling to shower and bath in this fresh water. Just note that it is not crystal clear but has the natural light brown color of mountain stream water. Due to the devastating fire 2 years ago, the mountain stream dries up in the summer but we then switch over to borehole water 5 liter water bottles are supplied for drinking water (but nothing stops you from drinking the tap water !!)
