Enjoy a wonderful night in our 1925 CB&Q wooden caboose. As you pull into the driveway of our little farm, you won’t believe you’re only 20 minutes from downtown Oklahoma City and less than 10 minutes from Edmond. You may encounter deer, turkeys, road runners and much more. Enjoy the lonesome howl of distant coyotes in the evening as you step outside this old waycar. If you’re looking for a unique experience and you’re a romantic fool such as I, come stay a night in 13744. Train conductors and brakemen of yesteryear surely wouldn’t get any work completed in this cozy caboose today. Now there’s no denying the feeling of sitting in a real railcar once inside but you’ll love the comforts of this old caboose. A comfy queen size bed, a hot shower, cold ac, warm lighting, an ice cold mini-fridge, train-themed movies (watched inside a real train....with popcorn), and the best cup of coffee await you. Guess who you may meet during your stay. We feed corn to wildlife just behind the caboose. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot a deer but we love all the little critters who come to visit the caboose. Whether you’re a couple looking for a truly romantic night, a few friends on a cross country road trip, or a parent with a little engineer with big dreams, this 1925 wooden caboose will exceed your expectations. Spend a night aboard this old CB&Q rear car and experience the magic. Welcome aboard 13744! Guests have full access to the caboose and area directly around the caboose. There’s no access to the main house or other parts of the property. From the caboose, guests may catch a glimpse of our working windmill or maybe one of our farm animals but we ask that our guests stay in caboose locality. We want you to enjoy the caboose in privacy. Our house is about 75 yards from the caboose but would rather you enjoy your time without our interaction. Nevertheless, I’ll be available via phone at all times if you need any assistance. Our little farm is close to I-35. Located just off Route 66, we’re three miles from Pops in Arcadia. Then visit the Round Barn which is just east of Pops and ask for the “Sam tour.” This may be one of the best tours I’ve ever been on. And if you’re an out-of-towner, get Thunder tickets! This experience is so fun. You’ll be back to the caboose from the Paycom Center in about 20 minutes. If you’re heading downtown, check out Bricktown. Bricktown has a great selection of restaurants, bars, and clubs. Our personal favorite is the lobster cargot at Mahogany after a Thunder win! If you’re a golfer, check out The Joinery. It’s an indoor golf experience/pub I love. Edmond also has so many fantastic restaurants as well as great places to shop. How about a local brew at the brewery? Coop, Stonecloud, Roughtail, and Anthem are all fairly close, offer tours, and have great IPA’s. My favorite is sipping a Coop F5 in their taproom. Do you need to dance? Groovy’s is the place to go and dance the night away. More train you say? The Oklahoma Railway Museum is just 13 miles from the caboose and offers a host of train related activities from riding in a train to learning the locomotive’s history. Just west of our property on Memorial Rd is Arcadia Lake. This well kept lake not only provides Edmond with drinking water but also offers fantastic boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking and bird watching. There are also many gorgeous trails to explore, whether you ride a horse, bike, or choose to walk. We’re also very close to Remington Park horse racing, Frontier City amusement park, Tinseltown movie theatre, and the Oklahoma City Zoo. If you let us know what kind of fun you’re looking for, we can point you in the right direction. Below are some fantastic restaurants we love. They’re all fairly close. Fish City is not only one of my favorites but also top pick for most of our guests. Be sure to tell them you’re a caboose guest. Gabriella’s, Boulevard Steakhouse and Hideaway Pizza are the farthest at roughly a 15 minute drive but well worth the trip. If you’re looking for amazing Italian food in a romantic setting, Gabriella’s is your place to go. For breakfast, Neighborhood Jam is the best. It’s about a 20 minute drive but very delicious.
