Ngurunit is a small village tucked in the Ndoto mountains Northern Kenya. Ngurunit itself boasts a panoramic view of the Ndoto mountains, a waterslide and pool up in the mountains (seasons may affect this) as well as a perfect view of the stars and the milky way. You will get immersed in culture, nature and breathtaking views. With an option to set up your own tent or sleep in our huts, we definitely have something for you. The host grew up in the area and has thorough knowledge of the same. The space Salato campsite was established as a space through which the income generated is used to help the women of Ngurunit area. Salato campsite offers an option of setting up your own tent using our grounds (this option allows us to host groups of upto 50+ people (kindly message us if you are a big group looking to use our space). As well, we offer hut accommodation. Each hut has two beds and there are a total of 4 huts making your stay private and comfortable. We have a bar and are able to offer cold drinks as well. We offer guided tours at an additional cost. Kindly note that access to the pools attracts a conservancy fee of KES 100 to help maintain the forest. Access to the various mountain peaks have different conservation fee charges. Kindly reach out to us for the most upto date fees. This fee is standard for both citizens and foreigners. We look forward to hosting you. Guest access Guests will have access to the Banda they paid for, the restrooms, showers and the bar. We also have plenty of camping space if needed. Our camp manager is available 24/7 should you need anything throughout your stay. Other things to note Water availability is usually a challenge during the droughts but we do our best to make sure there is water for showering, cooking and washing clothes or utensils. (We will notify you if there is a shortage prior to your arrival). As of 2020 Ngurunit now has cell service. The locally available foods are limited to items that are not highly perishable therefore should you require anything specific we recommend that you bring it with you.
