Montana house Njeguši, perfect location

This is a perfect located house in quiet, small village close to the mountain and national park Lovcen which you must visit if you are coming to Montenegro. Our house is also close to the sea coast (Kotor is 21km away, 40-50 minutes of ride without a lot of traffic), Tivat is 29km away (50-60 minutes of ride). The capital city, Podgorica, is an hour away from our house. The closest city to our house is Cetinje. You have a market close to our house which is around 3-4 minutes away (by car). The space Preparation of prosciutto begins around November, when the temperature drops below +10 ° C. First, the meat (buty 8-12 kg) is rubbed with sea salt and put to salting for 15 days. The meat must then be rinsed with water and pressed for a few weeks. For about 4 months, the meat is smoked (from beech and sawdust), then it goes through drying for some time. All in all, it takes about a year to achieve better quality than prosciutto. You can also visit the house where Njegos was born. You will find it easily, it is located near the road that passes through the village. It is a small stone house, very simple and modest, but everything in it reminds us that a great man lived in it. The exhibition presents not only household items, but also literary works, including the first edition of "Mountain Wreath", printed in Vienna in 1847. Here you can see portraits of Negoš, his bronze bust of the famous sculptor Ivan Meštrović, as well as the family tree of the Petrović family. Currently, his relics are kept near the village in the mausoleum of Njegos in Lovcen. How to get to the village of Njegushi? You can take a taxi to Cetinje or Kotor. If you are traveling by car, it is more convenient to get to Lovćen from Budva, the journey to the mountain takes about an hour, but it is worth it. You will have an exceptional opportunity to enjoy the views of the entire Bay of Kotor. From Budva, go in the direction of Radanovici and turn towards Kotor at the "Vuk Petrol" gas station. You will pass an incredible road, the shape of which resembles the letter "M" on the plains between the beautiful views of the Bay of Kotor. Legend has it that this is no ordinary coincidence. The famous engineer Josip Slade, who built the road in the name of King Nikola of Montenegro, was in love with his wife, Milena, and in that unusual way he decided to immortalize his love. The king, of course, did not like it, especially since the road turned out to be 500 m longer than planned. What happened to the engineer is not known. But the road remained and reminds passengers of this beautiful, albeit sad love. Other things to note The house Montana House Njeguše is located in the village of Njeguše under the mountain Lovćen.
