Looking for a place to stay after a long day of hiking, biking, hunting, horseback riding, or exploring, without having to drive 1+ hours to the nearest accommodation? Come stay in the Tonkawa, located just minutes from Caprock Canyons. This vacation rental is part of a historic homestead built in 1925, updated in the 90's, but still retaining the historic charm and decor from almost 100 years ago. The space The Tonkawa is a combined booking of the Buffalo Guest Room and the Bison Suite. It is a three-bedroom, two-bath vacation rental. Relax in the spacious living room with fold-out sofa, loveseat, and gas fireplace. Enjoy your favorite shows and movies on the big-screen Roku TV. Spend time cooking in a fully-equipped kitchen with a seating island, or grill your favorite foods on the outdoor gas grill (propane is provided). Wake up with complimentary coffee/tea at the coffee bar in the kitchen. Light snacks are provided as well. Linens and towels are included. Located on ten acres, two miles from the state park and one mile from the quaint town of Quitaque, guests are free to sit out on the front porch, walk the property, and enjoy the peace, quiet, and views of the surrounding areas. Some outdoor spaces are shared, such as the games, waterfall, and picnic tables, with guests of the camper rental and RV sites. --------------- Note: The owners occasionally stay on-site in the unrenovated apartment in the back part of the house.
