Description

We offer you a pristine cabin that was hand built using Ash trees from the land. It's like stepping back in time, a historian’s dream. The 23 acre property is situated on the banks of the River Raisin, with rolling hills, sweeping vistas, and secluded forests. Walk from the cabin to a raised boardwalk that takes you to private river frontage. Tall grass prairies and marshes are good for bird watching. We hope you enjoy this serene space. There is room for additional guests to camp. The space This is a rustic cabin with no running water or electricity. The cabin sleeps two. Potable water is provided, as well as the coolest artist-built outhouse you've ever seen! There are oil lanterns authentic to the era, gas lanterns, and a 2- burner gas camp stove. A tea kettle and coffee equipment will be provided. There is also a fire pit outside, with a grill top. Campfires outside must be contained to the fire ring only and all cooking should be done outside on a provided table to preserve the cabin. 2 bundles of firewood will be provided for each night of your stay. Additional wood can be purchased on site. There is room for tents outside of the cabin. Guests have access to all 23 acres of land. Additional costs may apply for additional people, as it adds impact to the land. Please no shooting, fireworks, or loud disruptions as this land is a sanctuary for all who pass through. The options are endless: honeymoon, artist retreat, fishing- small mouth bass, northern pike, sunfish, hiking, bird watching, paddling, kite-flying, stargazing, and more. An additional aspect of our Covid-19 precautions is to have the space vacant for at least three days between guests. Guest access Guests have walking access to all 23 acres of the land. Please note that in terms of wheelchair accessibility, the cabin does not have an accessible entrance. The boardwalk is "technically" accessible, but the surfaces may be uneven and you would be traveling through grass and dirt in certain areas. A person in a wheelchair or especially a power chair may find it difficult to get around. Please call if you have questions about accessibility, and we will do our best to accommodate! No access to the inside of the barn. Other things to note Please note certain house rule in order to preserve the cabin and property: - If using the wood stove inside the cabin, MUST follow the directions, be very careful and use extra caution please. - Eating is allowed inside the cabin, but please no cooking. A table is provided outside for cooking on the camp stove. This is for your own safety as well as the safety of the cabin and handcrafted table inside. - Follow the manual for using the cabin.
