The house was clearly built to admire the view 360 degrees around the house. Huge windows everywhere make let you see the sunsets and beautiful dark sky." Adam -”After renting a number of houses in Joshua Tree this was the best ever! House is well equipped and very nicely furnished. The best view port outside for watching meteors shower. Don't forget your telescope for great stargazing” - Joshua -BEDS & BATHS- The home can comfortably sleep up to four guests in two bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom, while the second bedroom has a queen-size bed and funky furnishings. Both bedrooms have sliding doors that lead to the back patio. Shelter 2 also has two bathrooms. The primary bathroom has dual sinks with wood accents and chrome features, plus a glass-enclosed walk-in rainfall shower and plenty of hotel-quality towels. Step through the door to enter the lovely private courtyard with an outdoor shower. The second bathroom, located across the hall from the second bedroom, includes a luxurious deep-soaking bathtub. Need to do some laundry? There’s a washer and dryer available for your use. -KITCHEN & DINING- Natural elements meet modern technology in the kitchen, which features sleek stainless steel appliances and custom wood cabinetry. Appliances include a gas stove, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, and both a drip coffee maker and a French press are ready for your morning java ritual. The cabinets are stocked with dishes, cookware, and a blender. When it’s time to eat, dine in style at the table for four - or opt for a meal outside on the patio. -LIVING SPACE- The kitchen opens up to a bright, airy living room with a comfortable sofa. After an invigorating hike (or a hearty meal at one of Joshua Tree’s delicious restaurants), you’ll want to kick back and relax in air conditioned comfort. Flip on the TV (DirecTV channels included), or just admire the spectacular views through the huge windows as your favorite tunes play through the Soundfreaq Bluetooth speaker. -OUTDOOR SPACE- Steps from the living room is your private patio, surrounded by gorgeous Joshua trees, which is an ideal place to relax. It’s up to you whether you’d prefer to soak up the rays in a lounge chair or sip a glass of California wine. When the sun goes down, nothing beats sitting around the stone fire pit with a view of the mountains in the distance. End the day with a soak in the Jacuzzi hot tub (or a refreshing dip in the cowboy tub!) overlooking the mountains in the sunset. When you’re in the mood for dinner with a view, just fire up the propane BBQ and pull up a chair at the outdoor dining table, which seats six. -ESSENTIALS- Parking is available for two vehicles: one in the carport and one in the driveway. There’s an electric vehicle charger in the carport. Shelter 2 also includes WiFi, heating, and air conditioning. -ACTIVITIES/ATTRACTIONS- Visitors come to the High Desert for its unique landscape, culture, and recreational opportunities, as well as for the weather - hot and dry summers and mild winters at our high altitude. Joshua Tree and the communities surrounding the Joshua Tree National Park include Flamingo Heights, Pioneertown, Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, and Landers. You’ll be close to all the action at Shelter 2. Some of our favorite options available to you: –Joshua Tree National Park: 800,000 acres of mystical beauty - Joshua Tree National Park is one of the world’s most incredible natural desert treasures. Sweeping, grand in scale and populated by granite monoliths and voluptuous rock and boulder formations. This quiet land, conducive to meditation and roaming, was carved by extremes in climate - wind, rain and an ever-present, relentless sun. Diverse forms of plant life are found everywhere, but none as unique or prevalent as the park’s namesake: the Joshua tree, standing majestically across the vast topography. –Pioneertown: Step back in time to thus rustic Old West-style village. Wander through the historic buildings, visit unique shops, catch a live music performance at Pappy & Harriets, and experience the Wild West charm. • The Integratron: New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process. Everything at your fingertips and more, when you book with us today! ** Cleaning Protocols *** As the only professional management company in the area, we have always maintained exceptional cleaning standards. We pay above the living wage standards; 100% of your cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners (i.e. no profit to us) and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. We love the High Desert for a lot of reasons - including the open spaces, lack of crowds, and dry weather that we believe make it a safe place to visit. You have access to every room and feature of this beautiful home. If you need a little more space, Shelter: Two can also be rented in conjunction with its sister property, Shelter: One, which sits on an adjacent 2 1/2-acre parcel of land. This is the perfect arrangement for larger groups. https://airbnb.com/h/shelterjoshuatree Our property manager, Homestead Modern, is local and has staff available at all times. Monument Manor is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the Joshua Tree area given its immediate proximity to the park and breathtaking vistas of the area’s signature Craggy Mountains and desert plants. When you’re ready for some outdoor adventure, Joshua Tree National Park’s West Entrance is just 2 minutes away by car. Searching for great eats, drinks, shops, and things to do? Here are a few recommendations in Joshua Tree Village, a 5-minute drive away: • Start your day at Joshua Tree Coffee Co., known for their famed coffee made from locally roasted beans • Marvel at the handiwork at the World Famous Crochet Museum • Pick up some lunch or a souvenir from the Joshua Tree Certified Farmers' Market, open Saturdays • Find your next favorite read at Space Cowboy Books • Perhaps close your day with the food, drinks and music offered at the rustic Joshua Tree Saloon Up for a day trip? Don’t miss these area highlights - they’re worth the drive. • Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum (15-minute drive) - As far from a stuffy gallery as you can imagine, this outdoor sculpture garden contains a unique collection of folk-art. • Pioneertown (20-minute drive) - Put on your ten-gallon hat and stroll down Mane Street of this Wild West-inspired town, also known for Pappy & Harriet’s, a notable restaurant and venue. • The Integratron (25-minute drive) - New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process. • Palm Springs (45-minute drive) - Artsy town known for vintage shopping, art galleries, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. • Mt. San Jacinto State Park (90-minute drive) - Expansive, hilly landscape with foot and horseback trails surrounding 10,834-foot Mount San Jacinto. Of course, let’s not forget about the essentials. Everything you need is within close driving distance: • Closest supermarket: Vons (13-minute drive) • Closest liquor store: Mike's Liquor (6-minute drive) • Closest pharmacy: Star Pharmacy (7-minute drive) • Closest bank: U.S. Bank (13-minute drive) • Closest gas station: 76 (6-minute drive) Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain. • EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees. • DOGS: Your dog is welcome and there is a one time fee of $100. Please alert us in advance. Max of 2 dogs. No other types of animals are authorized. • SOCIAL MEDIA: If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, please mention us! • CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program. • ROAD CONDITIONS: Many roads are dirt, so please take it slow. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain. • CO-HOSTED BY HOMESTEAD MODERN
