The Plantation House is set in 3 acres of tropical gardens, with stunning panoramic views of the Caribbean sea, and the neighbouring French Island of Guadeloupe and the Iles des Saintes. To the rear of the property is a backdrop of tropical clad mountains. Sitting on my outside benches with a rum punch watching the sun drop into the ocean is one of life's great pleasures, with only the sound of the distant sea surf and birds tweeting. The house boasts 2 airy en-suite bedrooms, a large open plan kitchen/ dining /lounge area, with stunning cathedral ceilings throughout and solid maple wood parquet flooring in all the rooms. From this living area there are lovely views of the Caribbean Sea and distant islands The house is within a five minute drive, or a scenic walk to the most stunning beaches on the island, and Portsmouth is a mere 10 minute drive, where you can buy most of the basics that you might need or try some of the local restaurants. Guest access I would recommend hiring a car either at the airport or in Portsmouth. Failing that there are mini buses that cover most of Dominica at modest fixed prices, though mostly just during the day. During your stay Your host Maurice Chaplais or the manager Charles will be available for any help during your stay. Other things to note The house is a convenient 30 minute drive from Douglas-Charles airport. You can rent a car at the airport or take a taxi to the house.
